  • GUN TESTS loves the CM9, but.....

they now say there is no reason to buy the costlier PM9. What say you?

Those who wanted a less expensive PM9 are in hog heaven. Those that still want the refinement and aren't concerned about money (something I've never experienced) still have a nice model to choose from.

I'm sure there are many PM9 owners who wish they had waited and got the less expensive CM. Some have already traded off the PM's and gotten CM's.

It's a world full of options for every pocket book. I think it was a very wise move on Kahr's part for sure. Broadens the market place for sure.

I knew that when I first seen the CM9 in a video clip from SHOT back in JAN.

It took me about 5 mins from the time Buds emailed me they were in-stock the 1st day they were released 3/28 to buy mine.

I had bought a CW9 last fall and already knew the things they change to make them $200 cheaper to me don't matter and that these guns are just about perfect for carry.

        I hate threads like this.

BUT, I got my PM9 because it was the best gun (in my opinion) to trust my family to should I ever need to protect them. I didn't get it for cheap insurance, cost wasn't really a concern but I wanted the best gun for my money - PM9 was it, and it was tried and true.

CM9 is still new, but I'm sure it will hold up the tradition.

I for one certainly didn't mean to imply that there should be any buyer remorse from folks like yourself. At the time of your purchase or even now the PM9 is a terrific choice. I also agree that there should be no price on personal and family protection. Unfortunately the bank doesn't make allowances for such things.
If I already owned a PM 9 I certainly wouldn't dump it for a CM. If a CM 45 ever appears and I believe it will I might add it to my stable along with my PM45 but would not dump the PM for the CM.

I have total faith that the CM is gonna be a winner. There's alot out there and we've heard no bad reports or major issues experienced.

If I were in the market for a small 9 right now I would definately give the CM9 a hard look. However,it wasn`t there when I needed it so I bought the best gun I could at the time.I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever and if the need was to arise again I might still go with the PM9.I look at it as I look at my wife.Sure, there are newer models coming out all the time but the one I`ve had for years has never let me down. Why let an unproven new model turn my head?Rubbish!! It ain`t gonna happen.

would still buy the pM9, just because, certainly not that it will pereform any better than the cm9 but some of the bells and whistles on the PM9, I do like. not like buying a candy bar that you eat today and then start looking for another one to buy and eat. I buy my guns to keep and to shoot um and I am so so happy with my PM9.:59:

CM9 isn't available in black. PM9 is. Nuff said. =)

I do have a CW45 and do appreciate the economy of the model and the performance you get for that price.

PM9 owners defending their purchase are just an effete corps of impudent snobs who characterize themselves as gun intellectuals.

Just think how ticked PM owners would have been if Kahr had simply dropped the price to compete with those new to the market guns.

By changing a few parts, calling it something else, and selling it cheaper, no whiners...just winners.

Just marketing, in my opinion, no big difference in value that I can see.

We should all be used to better things being made available at lower prices. Hell, we're all using a computer right now, arent we? You're computer lost 87% of its value when you loaded it up into your car in the Staples parking lot. I never expected my PM9 to be the best "value" forever.... But that doesnt mean i'll stop loving it!
