  • Looking for CW45 Chronograph Data

Im thinking of picking up a CW45 or maybe even a PM45.

Im curious as to how much velocity loss is experienced from the short barrels of the Kahrs? Most of the data I can find is from 4.5 or 5 inch barrels.

Bad guy will noever notice the difference. trust me on that.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

      Cw45

I have a CW45 and I had 2 PM45. As expected the PM45 conceals nice but not such a great range gun. The CW45 is a much better "shooter" and more accurate. I use to carry the PM45 as a CC but switched over to the PM9. I think there is not much to gain and more to lose in a compact 45. I just think a 9mm is a better platform when it comes to compact carry. Follow up shots, capacity, smaller and more reliable function and less recoil. I know there will lots of folks who will disagree with me but after owning 2 PM45's I DO find them ammo sensitive. Take a PM45 with the ammo you have been using and has been working "fine" and take it to the range and function test it correctly fire a few rounds then try and to eject a live round and so on alot of people will be suprised with the ammo they though was "fine". If you must have the 45 I would go with the CW it's a real sweet gun and is much more "forgiving" with ammo.

        Very interesting site is http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/results.html
it compares various loads from a barrels incresed an inch at a time.
I think it shows around 30-40 FPS lost/gained for every inch of barrel up to the point that powder burns out and friction enters the picture.
BTW, I really like my CW45.

HY*NDAI is to cars, what Caracal, Hi-Point, and Jennings is to handguns. The cars may or may not run ok, but the corporation SUCKS.

After alot research I think 3 1/3" would be the least I would go.

I have a PM9 and love it. Was thinking of adding the 45 to the stable.
