  • cw9 25yd accuracy

Just wondering what kind of accuracy I can expect bench rest at 25 yards. I know there are a lot of variables but in general. Can I expect 6" groups or 5' groups?

Also, while I have ya here, how about 10yds? What kinda groups should I get there?

    thanks for the help

I shoot very good one shot groups at 15 yards.

    sorry, had to do it!

i'm sure someone will come along soon to let you know.

From a range report off another forum...

"I now have 350 rounds through my PM9 without any problems, today I shot 4 out of 5 shots free hand from 25 yards into a 6" group with cheap Federal 115 gr. FMJ."

And off our forum this by member "myname"...

I only practice at about half that with my CW40, I can easily get 2 1/2 inch groups at 35 feet.

Most of the time I have been shooting at about 10yds. The other day I was at my buddies place and we were shooting at 25yds. Of course I was awful. He shot better but didn't do as well as he thought he would. He is a very experience shooter, instructor etc. He was able to hit a steel plate, maybe 8x8 or so at 75yards. Only once though. Just wondering what the capabilities of the cw9 really are? I don't expect to shoot as well but it would be nice to know if I am wiping a dead horse or if I just need more practice at 25yards to hit a 8x8 steel plate. He didn't do badly at 25yds but hitting it certainly wasn't a given.

Is the cw9 accurate enough to hit a pie plate consistently at 25yds? I'll bench rest it next time out but would like to have a bench mark.

          thanks

Thanks for the help guys. I was typing while you guys were posting. LOL

I also use the Federals when I shoot new ammo. Most of the time I shoot reloads.

The thing here, it seems, is the pistol will shoot very descent groups at 25yds. I just need a lot more practice with her.

How did you guys find the way the sights were set from the factory? Were they pretty close? Did you have to adjust them to get those groups?

doing bench rest shooting I was able to bust clay targets at 25 yards with my CW9. That was my favorite thing to shoot at. The CW9 shoots really well based on my experience.

I miss the CW9 since I traded it for a CM9, but I carry the CM9 a LOT compared to the CW9. It's just way more comfortable. It shoots OK too. I wish someone would give me 1000 rounds of 9mm so I could shoot it more. I really want a .22 with the same size and trigger as the CM9 so I can practice more and spend less money.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The bar/dot sights on the CW9 are not really a target sight. The bar/dot are a quick aquisition sight, similar to XS sights, not real good for tight groups.

I just read a review that stated from a rest, the CW9 being tested shot anwhere from 2.31 inches up to just under 4" depending on the ammo.
You can check the review out here:
                  http://www.kahr.com/Reviews2006/complete-handguns.asp
I usually shoot my CW40 and 45 at 5-12 yards, and am quite happy with the results.

The target on the left is a good CCW "group". The plate on the right was obviously shot with too much concentration and time.

Concentrating like that, a 25-yard target should be easy to hit... plate-sized, anyhow.

I was shocked one day to shoot three mags in my PM45 at a 15-yard paper plate and all hit the plate!

                    Good shooting!
