  • PM9 floor plates in CW9--PM9 magazine base locks needed?

Couldn't find an answer for this when I searched. I am going to purchase two PM9 floor plates to swap out the plastic ones on my CW9's magazines. I was just wondering if the PM9 magazine base locks were needed as well or if I could use the base locks from the CW9 mags?

    Thanks!

I think if you are using the metal floor plates you will have to order the metal base.

In my experience, the plastic plate works just fine. The black plastic "button" on the bottom does stick out a bit, so you might not be as happy with the appearance. But, function is fine. At nearly $9 a pop for the little metal part "Magazine Base Lock", your hesitancy is understandable!

However, considering that shipping is pretty expensive, you might be clever to just bite the bullet and get the metal part in case the plastic part's appearance drives you crazy. Personally, after seeing the metal base with the plastic locking plate . . . I put the metal locking plate back in.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

you can get both the floorplate and lock in a kit for $15.

I made my own SS flat floor plate for my CW9 mag and used the plastic lock. Like Tucson said it did let the button stick down slightly, So I put a thin flat washer on the post under the plate to raise it up so it sits flush when assembled.

              Brilliant solution, Mr. BEARDOG!

Thanks! . . . he said as he headed for the garage to find a washer to try.

                No problem Tucson,
If you find one that's a little too thick just rub it on some emery cloth or a file a few times to get it thinner. I think(did it a while ago) I did that just to make sure mine was good and flat and it worked fine.
