  • P vs K grip

I'm like 99% sure I will end up with a P as weight and price are better.

Still, I must ask. Does the rubber grip feel better, the same or worse than the plastic grip?

The newer K's aren't really a rubber grip but a hard plastic. They feel good but not near as nice as the old rubber. My early K40 has the rubber. The new K listed today sure looked like rubber in the picture. Maybe they are coming back. That would be nice.

Both the P and K have a nice grip feel. An innertube or grip sleeve helps the P.

The bike tube grip covers feel a lot like the older K9 grips... just right to me.

My K9 now has CT LaserGrips and those are not as soft, but not really hard plastic.

I haven't measured the grip circumference of the two guns, but the K9 seems to fill my hand better than the P9. The K9 feels good as is, but the P9 only feels right with a grip sleeve. Just my impression, no factual data. Not sure any of this translates to better or worse shooting at any rate.

A "P" series gun with a Brooks A-Grip is amazing, it does not snag clothing like rubber, it is soft to your skin if you carry without an undershirt and its grippy - even when wet. The are fairly inexpensive and you can take it off if you don't like it. I have had folks give me a hard time about my"velvet gunstocks" but they all shut their traps after they tried it. It is one of the best kept secrets in the grip world.

My K40 with the rubber grip feels alot better than the plastic CW/P series grip. Place a Houge or similar grip sleeve on the plastic and the question is moot IMHO.

Ditto. I have the Qwik-Grip on my CM9 and it makes a world of difference handling the gun.
                Very interesting...

My K9's rubber grip feels fabulous. I don't understand why all guns don't come with them. Not only is it a good shock absorber, it's a very non-slip surface.

In contrast, the Kahrs I've held with poly grips feel awful. Too stubbly.

never held a p9 so i'm going out on a limb.....but, that grip looks like it would feel terrible. why doesn't kahr get it right? they make such a nice firearm and put on a grip that, it seems, many a person feels a need to modify. i could almost talk myself into a p9 over the k9 if i didn't feel i would likely have to modify that stupid looking grip.

It's a typical polymer [plastic] grip surface. All of my plastic guns or steel guns with plastic grips CZ, Sig, HI Power, get some kind of enhancement. IMHO, hard plastic sucks for a grip surface!
