Boy that what close!

About a month ago I sold my CW9 thinking that I wanted a M&P 9c instead. I was thinking that the extra capacity would be great and the little extra weight wouldnt be noticed. Well the thickness and weight was noticed right away but what was worse was the crappy trigger! I even had a trigger job but I just couldnt come to grips with the M&P 9c.

I sold the CW to a friend and he was gracious enough to sell it back. I picked it up today and it felt like an old friend. I cant wait to shoot her tomorrow. BTW, I'm not saying the M&P is a crappy gun, I'm just saying it and I just couldnt mesh together. Pretty sure I wont make that mistake again!

Welcome back and glad your friend was gracious enough to sell the CW9 back to you. I love my CW9 but I like my 9c a lot also. I seldom use it as a carry weapon though. That job is intrusted to my CM9.

I have an M&P 9C, 40C and 45C. They're definitely not pocket guns and you're most likely not going to carry them in an ankle holster, which is where my PM9 lives most of the time. The 40C had a great trigger right out of the box and remains my favorite of the three. The trigger of the 9C and 45C were turned from trash to treasure with an Apex Tactical ultimate striker block and hard sear. They're reliable and quality pistols, but not my first choice for daily carry. Right now the PM9 is the King there.

I agree with everyone on this thread. Both pistols are "keepers", but they are very different handguns.
The 9c trigger has never been a problem for me. I guess I'm just not fine tuned enough. If the bullet goes where I intended, the gun is OK in my book.... pretty simple logic from a pretty simple mind.

The CW9 is much easier to wear IWB. The slim profile makes the M&P 9c feel like a brick in comparison. I had carried the 9c for months before getting the Kahr. I still rotate it into my line-up of carry guns. But, I gotta admit, the Kahr is a whole different ballgame.

My Smith has a Crimson Trace laser grip. I am a firm advocate of these devices. As of today, my CW9 does not have a laser.... that may change soon.

The only downside so far, is the capacity of the CW9. It's adequate, but more would be better. Duhhhh.

The funny thing about the 9c is I felt like I couldnt hit the broad side of a barn. My target didnt look that bad but next to my P225 it was just ok. I felt like I was very accurate with my CW9. The main thing was that I carried my CW9 everywhere, when I only carried the 9c sometimes and my LCP instead. I would rather have the CW9 over the LCP, one more round and 9mm over .380acp. I just made up another 100 rounds tonight and gonna take her back out after church!

I'm gonna have my friends at the shop cerakote the slide black, install night sights and maybe ingrave "Hulley" on the slide to help insure I dont make that mistake again! I've wanted an all black Kahr for a little while now.

I put the APEX DCAEK in my M&P9 and it now has a much better 5# trigger. It really improved my shooting. I never carry it but it's usually in the nightstand, cocked and locked (yes, I have the safety option).

Cw9

I have both the CW9 and CM9. Hard to choose, but the CW9 is more comfortable to shoot. I need to put a slip on grip on the CM9 and the aggressive grip would not punish as much. That might make them more equal. I know this I carry the Kahr pistols and not my other pistols although they are all great to shoot. I have thought this before, once you can shoot the Kahr to your satisfaction it will become number one on the carry list.

Hmmmm. I am pondering your statement, because I just purchased a PM9, and wonder if I should sell my CW9. Guess I will rethink now that I read your post.

unless one needs the doe ray me, keep the cw also. Owning a PM9 only, not sure I would buy a cw but I might consider a cm9.

I have a slip grip on mine and it makes a big difference to me. i shot another 100 rounds today (reloads) and it felt like an old friend. I'm not gonna miss the M&P at all. In fact Its already up for sale at the LGS on consignment, the money will go to a FiveseveN! I've been wanting one of those for a few years now.
