  • Cw40 or 45

    I now have a cw9 and a p9 . Now I am having a terrible urge to buy a cw40 or a cw45 if i can't talk me out of which would you'all suggest?:

I've always preferred the 45 round...and that's the only real question here. Both Kahr pistols are just outstanding. Pick based on feel in your hand and caliber you like best. And then, as Jocko always says, "shoot it like you stole it".

Get the smaller version in 9 cm9/ pm9/ mk9, no sense buying/ stocking up on another size ammo.

No question to me at all. You got the pocket size on hand, go CW45. I enjoy my PM45 more than my K40 as far as shooting goes. I'd not part with either but prefer the 45.

I've got them both, but I like the .45 round better.

Just buy them both -- terrible urge solved!

Although, sticking to one caliber makes sense if you're shooting. (except .380, even .357 mag is cheaper than .380 these days )

Well, they're virtually the same size and have the same round count. Only significant difference is the .45 is 3 oz. heavier.

              3 oz. isn't a lot.

I have CW9 and CW45... .45 round has always been a sentimental favorite for me. Realistically, IMHO, it doesn't make a WHOLE lot of difference performance-wise (though I know thousands of paragraphs of net-testimony have been written on the subject). I guess when the decision-time came for me, I could more easily think of myself sayin' - "Gee, I shoulda got the .45" - than sayin' - "Gee, I shoulda got the .40"...

              Does that make any sense?

You'll be good either way... (Heck, you can always get the "other one" down the road... It's not really a dillemma...)

I bought the CW40 first, cause I needed that particular caliber at the time. Later on I bought the CW45. I put the Chrimson Trace laserguard on the CW45, and carry it about 75% of the time. I do still carry the .40 occasionally, like if I decide to wear a shoulder rig or something the gun with the laser won't fit into. I still prefer that big ole slug of .45 going out the barrel though.

I dont have experience with the 45 but i have about 600 rnds through my cw40 without any problems. Very nice combination of ease of conceal and power.

Some ppl cant take the snappiness of the 40 but i dont think its all that bad. Actually kinda fun. Especially rapid fire!

I feed all my 45's Speer Gold Dot 230 grain or I feed them nothing at all.

Actually that's a little white lie but momma says a little white lie never hurt nobody. Sometimes when I'm really poor I use Winchester SXT 230 grain and I can requisition it during my armorer duties at work. It's almost but not quite just like stealing. I consider it for test purposes. Anybody buy this story?
