  • PM9 sight picture?

What sight picture POA/POI does a PM9 have at 10-15 yds? Target hold (#2) or combat hold (#3)? (thinking about one with night sights if it matters)

    ETA the distance.

Now I don't know nuttin 'bout no night sight sight picture.... but... doesn't the front sight fill the gap on the rear sight? Wouldn't it be difficult to capture a moving target at night in those little slots of #3? I think I would wish for #2 if I had them.

Its not really a "night sight" issue. I was specific about that only because differnt sights could have a different POA/POI, but some guns are set up to shoot POI top of the post, others on the dot. I very much prefer #2 for just the reason you mention though- I think you can be more accurate when the front post doesn't block your target.

My 1911 is set up to #2, but I installed the sights myself and that was my preference. Most three dot sights are set up like #3.

I don't have a PM9, but my CW45 ad CW9 have three dot Trijicon sights on them: both shoot POA/POI using sight picture No.2

probably all 3 would be good for sitting at the local range and taking ones time, but just my two cents. In a SHTF situation, ur not gonna do any of the 3, If u see the front sight even, u best thank God for that part. If u try to do all this other stuff, u might be dead, certainly at night ur not gonna do that stuff. That front sight only will do the job easily at 10 yards and under and will do it alot faster than trying to line up all that stuff. Just my two cents.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I believe all of them are pretty much center of mass at 30'. That is all I need.

Hate to ask an obvious question, but I can't see the picture on my browser. Comes out with a red X. My popup blocker is OFF. What am I missing?

Thank you for this post!! Cool diagrams too! I've always wondered this. Sometimes I am more to point of aim with #2, and sometimes #3. Door number 3 would be the right picture though. But hey, use what works best to your point of aim. I still have a touch of shot anticipation however, so i'll modify this slightly. Deep down I know I'm anticipating the shot, but I tell people I have more gravity between myself and the target, thus dropping my shot a half inch.
