How many rounds through your gun before shooting the Hornady? Could it be that the gun still needs some break-in?

I have had good success with Winchester Ranger "T" series. I had problems with Gold Dots, sent the PM9 in and they fixed the slide stop. It shoots them good now too. I just like the Win. "T's" Better..My PM9 shot fmj like butter, but it did not jhp's until they fixed it..Mike

i've heard of the subcompacts having issues with gold dots, but i use 124gr 9mm +p gold dots in my pm9 with no problems. close to 3000 rounds of that through it so far.

I just got some Federal HST 124gr that I think will work well. Already had some +p HST that worked well.

gold dots seem to be the most problematic HP ammo through the little kahrs for some reason.

my experience appears to be the exception.

gotta love h&k priced guns with hi-point quality control! yeah, i went there. guess i can't hate too hard, 2/3 of my handguns are kahrs. i just love the form factor and trigger, and i know that once you eventually back kahr customer service into a corner and force them to give you a functional kahr, it's 100% reliable.

maybe you get lucky and get a flawless kahr the first time like i did with my pm9.

don't even get me started on my k9 elite...

Not officially a HP, but Hornady Critical Defense feed well, and overall are probably a better load if you are likely to encounter a "animal" (two or four legged) with lots of fur or clothing on.

...as is mine. I did the teardown and cleanup, racked the slide, made sure it had plenty of oil and it ate through Speer Gold Dot 115 gr. HP like an industrial-strength garbage disposal, no problems at all.

So far Hornaday Critical Defense is the only Hollow point I've never had a problem feeding in my CM9. I attribute it to the pointy shape of the bullet. Gold dots are the worst! (As far as feeding). Winchester Ranger T +P work most of the time, but I've still had some FTF. I have modified the Mag followers and done a little polishing of the feed ramp.

I do not have a CM9, but a PM9 and a MK9; both of them like CorBon DPX.

maybe it still needs more time to break in,,it's still really tight

It could be. How many rounds does it have on it? I never shoot HP during the break-in period.
