  • New CM9 owner - couple of questions

Hi, I'm a new CM9 owner - I bought it yesterday at Cabela's and I think I got a pretty good deal after they agreed to price-match $415 out the door. It seems like a great little gun and it will share pocket-carry duties with my S&W 442 and LCP. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do the 200 round break-in for another week or two, but I've been racking the slide (ouch!) a lot.

I would like to buy some more magazines, and was wondering where to buy them for the best price? Also, how many magazines do you usually keep for your carry guns?

I also want a nice thin pocket holster. I use DeSantis Nemesis holsters for my 442 and LCP, but I'm completely open to something new. In fact, when I put my CM9 in the 442 pocket holster, it made the gun feel bulkier than I would like. So I think something thinner would be nice to have.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone around here. Seems like a nice place

Thinnest pocket holsters have to be either the Uncle Mikes or the Blackhawks. Both are generally cheap but work.

I've only got one other mag for my CW9. If I knew I was going to a gun fight, I'd carry my CZ Phantom (19 rounds in the gun and another 18 in a spare mag) or a rifle!
On the internet, the number of posts do not correlate to actual knowledge.
The notch is supposed to be there as well as the bulge at the front of the frame!

generic. I carry the desantis and also the ujcle mikes #3 fo rmy PM9 and P380. TRhey are low in price, not cheap made and they contour to ones body faster than leather. Been the leather route for pocket carry but just seem to alwaqys come back to the desantis. I would think a couple spare mags would suffice, IMO sticki with the flush fit mags like what came with your gun. buy kahr mags. U paid IMO a very decdent low price to. I never carry a spare mag for my PM9 NEVER. but I do have two spares for range use and in case one goes down for some reason, I am not out of business. Oh and I do have one of those highly collectable BUTT UGLY 7 rounds extended round mags that I would not wish on my worst friend..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Agree 100%, J. When I needed a second for the CW45 I bought last month this is where I went. Their prices are good, no up charge for CC's, and they ship promptly.

However, I did run into one issue with the company. While I was on the site, I checked out the hand guns they had in stock. I found this lovely little Kahr MK40 with night sights for at least $200 less than anyone else was pricing it. I called and they still had it and said it was new but had been around a while. At this point I was NOT looking for another gun, especially a 40, but I bought it anyway. It turned out to be exactly what they said, and was flawless and accurate through almost 200 rounds. The issue is that I spent $609 for the pistol and shipping, when I had no intention of spending anything.

LOL! It sounds the issue was with you, not the company. That desire for another gun is hard to resist, isn't it? I had gone thru some hard times and had to sell all but one of my guns to finance a move in 2009. That included a beloved CW9. So, last spring I started thinking about getting another one when I found out about the CM9. I was set to be saving my pennies for a few months when I saw this gorgeous mirror polished CM9 for sale here on the Forum. I about had to hock an arm and a leg to come up with the dough, but I did and haven't regretted it for a minute!

Yeah, that was pretty sneaky underpricing everyone else just to suck me in. If they hadn't tempted me like that, I'd be $600 richer.

Well, I was speaking figuratively, of course. No blood loss involved. I was eatin' beans for a while, though.

Well, you're the one talking about hocking horses or horse parts. Me, I know nothing.

Is it just my imagination or has Jocko's spelling improved tremendously in the last couple of days? I can actually understand what he's saying now. Did losing all those posts affect the situation?

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
