  • New PM9 with Novak Sights?

Just ordered a new PM9 DLC through my LGS. I wanted the gun with Meprolight night sights, but after a search of my dealers distributors, the owner told me he couldn't find a PM9 with Meps, but he did find one with Novaks. I thought that was quite odd since I haven't heard of that before, but the owner of the gun shop was insistant that the sights were Novaks. I'm kinda thinking he meant Trijicons.
Just wondering... did Kahr start installing Novaks on new PM9's?

BTW, I ordered the gun anyway.

They don't offer a standard model with Novaks ... but that doesn't mean they didn't do it by special request. But, if the gun is new that would be odd. I tend to think like you, that they are Trijicon as they use that for a front sight, when they put the Novak on the rear.

Kahr does sell Novak's. You can send them teh slide and they will install Novaks (or XS Big Dots which is what I did), but to the best of my knowledge, does not sell them equiped with Novaks from the factory.

I saw a used Kahr with the plain black Novaks on Gunbroker before, but not a new one. Congrats

Emailed Nathan at Kahr yesterday and he confirmed that they don't ship out new PM9's with Novaks. He also told me that their standard night sights are Trijicons.
It's almost like Christmas when I was a kid..... Excited, not knowing what you are going to get!
According to my dealer, I'll have the gun by next Thursday. Will post with the results.

            and the winner is...................... Meprolights!

No disappointment here, as I've always preferred the Meps due to the larger white circles around the tritium tubes. Easier for my old ragged eyes to pick up in daylight.
With that said, I wouldn't have minded trying out the Novaks since I've never owned a set.
Now, on to the break-in prep!

Having Kahrs with both Novaks and Meps (not on the same gun, duh!).... I agree with you. I much prefer the Meprolights.

Same here, my 50 year old eyes see Mepros better, but Big Dots the best.

I wouldn't mind Novaks but they're so much more expensive than the Meps so I went with the cheaper of the 2.
