The report I received from Kahr was, "there were a few things wrong with that gun", but they hadn't completed the repair when I spoke with them so they couldn't give me the details. To be honest, that was all I needed to hear, because I immediately went to the retailer (a large outdoor sportsmen chain) and demanded a new replacement and told them that I wouldn't accept anything less. I didn't spend $700 to wait 5 weeks to own a repaired gun that was defective out of the box. The local gun store said that they were informed by Kahr that the gun was taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. So who knows what exactly happened. I suspect someone at the store may have been playing with it, because I doubt it left Kahr assembled incorrectly, and I couldn't take it apart because the trigger wouldn't reset. So if it test fired at Kahr, but wouldn't work for me, something must have happened at the store.

Anyway, stuff happens. To those complaining about Kahr, I can only say that the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. I don't know exactly what the issue was with the first one, but the replacement works perfectly. Just because there are a few people telling stories about their problems, remember that there are thousands of happy owners out there including me. I agree that the PM45 is not for everyone. They are very small, very powerful, very tight, and meet my needs for CCW. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Hey can anyone tell me what a fair retail price on a CW45 is? My dealer tells me he will sell one to me for cost at $400.00 I think at that price he should include a 7 round magazine. Im going to talk to him in the morning so clue me in is $400.00 a good deal or not and what is a fair price to pay for my Kahr CW 45. There is a guy here in MN on this blog with a new never fired PM45 which is what I really want for $610.00 but he's not responding to my emails. I'm afraid if I commit to the CW the guy with the PM will contact me and I cant afford two almost identical pieces of hardware any good solutions to my quandary? Thanks for the input.

Sometimes having a local dealer can be worth a premium price, but this does not seem to be much of a premium.

I usually check GunBroker dot com, the auction site, where there are currently some buy-it-now offerings at around $360. Of course, you have to get it shipped to you via an FFL, adding costs.

So, yeah, $400 sounds pretty fair to me. YMMV

        Best of luck!
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

Just curious, have you tried pocket carry of the PM45?

The PM45 is a tiny bit large for pocket carry. People do it but most consider it just slightly over the size limit.

I never pocket carry but tried it long ago just to see. Mine rides nicely in a ankle holster and works well or on the belt in a Silent Thunder.
The CW would work equally well and give a bit more grip to hang onto. I love my PM45 and would never part with it but if I didn't have it, I'd probably be looking hard at the CW too.

            Tough choice.

Small compact & powerfull hand guns tend to get that bad rap mostly from newbe shooters and those that don't read the damn manual. These guns in my honest opion are not for the beginner or novice shooter. Should you go ahead and get one, just read the manual, cleaner her up really good, lube it liberally, then go out and "Shoot it like you stole it" to quote JOCKO. One word of advise... get a grip on that puppy, cause you ain't shootin a target pistol and that stiff slide needs something solid to push against. The recoil is not bad at all just sorta like a good shove. Have fun!
All very true. I think that's why I've never had a problem with a Kahr. Good prep, liberal lube, and hang on.
