  • CM9 Frame Crack?

Hello, new to the forum here.

When I was applying Decal Grip today I have noticed there is a line on the left side of the grip. Can't figure out if it's a crack or just the line from the poly mold. Gun is less than 3 weeks old. Hope I don't have to send it back .

My bet it is a scratch of some sore, can't see how it can crack kthere for any reason, If u could get a small strobe type light inside that grip in that area and in the dark, if it was a crack, it "
    might
show through. My thoughts it is a scratch of some sort.

looks like a mold mark to me. does it go all the way through to the other side?

It doesn't look it goes all the way through into the grip. I just looked at the other side of the pistol. There seems to be line on the other side as well, it just not nearly as noticeable. So I'm guessing it's mold mark?

Just looked at our CM9 and it has the same exact markings although slightly less visible, also same on the other side. I am almost certain that these are mold marks like you are guessing. Happy shooting.

I have a blunt nosed pm9...same markings. You've got nothing to worry about.

my new style PM9 has them about the same as yours. old style has mark on right side not on left and you have to look hard to see it. you're good to go

my CM9 will be back to me from kahr this week...

less than 200 rounds through it and it has an identical "crack" to the one you have pictured....

the same crack is also visible on the inside of the mag well....

to me it looks like a crack from stress riser to stress riser, especially with it being visible inside the mag well... which is why I sent it back to kahr...

a kahr technician has told me it is just a mold line and that they see this commonplace on this model.... and that it is being sent back to me with zero modifications....

believe me, its going to be checked to hell and back to see if its a crack.... and if it is... I will let the world know... and if it isn't...and kahr "sees this all the time" then they should fix their &^%$# mold or mold process....

Oh, just put a cork in it. There are already plenty of professional whiners here already.

                        Another one is not needed.
It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

It's not a problem. Run 200 - 300 rounds through it, you'll find no problem, and you should be good to go. You have bought the lightest 9mm with a nice trigger and it is RELIABLE for probably $400 (made in the USA by the way.)

If the line bothers you don't buy a glock or anything else polymer. You can pay $1000 and buy a Rohrbaugh if you can find one and search for ammo it likes and change recoil springs every 500 rounds.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
