PM9 Came in today...

I finally picked up my new PM9 today. Night sights are shining bright and the cleaning preperation is complete. Followed the steps in the Kahr Tech section and everything went smooth. The gun was smothered in oil when I opened it up and it was dirty to boot, so it really needed a good cleaning. Looking forward to some range time tomorrow to see how it does. So far so good...

If yours is anything like mine it will feel like a different gun at 600 rounds than it does new. I really like mine and I find it to be the perfect cc gun.

yes!!!! Clean and lube, then shoot it a bunch to break it in...

I really like my PM9... PM9j really. And the PM45's too... they get carried more, but when the max conceal is needed - its PM9 all the way

andI have been told that ALL ahrs are sent fromt he factory totally cleaned to, kinda shoots that comment square in the ass ,now doesn't it. U got a dandy IMO the best kahr on the lineup, not due to better made or anything, just so so concealable and so so fun to shoot. Be prepare dfor an experience with the loooooong but so smooth trigger system. Don't be surprised if your shots are all ovber the place. It takes rounds down range with any kahr, Ur pM9 is small as hell, it is light as hell with no buttons, bells or whistles along side the frame. IMO it is what it is, a smallas sgun that will save your life when needed. Practice close, get fast close and if u have any issues bring it to the forum, these guys here are sharper than a 110 Buck folding hunter. Just sayin

I like the size and handling of my PM9, I would just never go to battle with the extended magazine that it comes with.

After shooting 200 rounds yesterday to do the break-in with it. All my FTF issues were with the extended magazine.

Thanks all...Got rained out on the range today..will try again tomorrow. @seafoodguy, that is disapointing about the extended mag issues. I will let you know if i experience the same.

I agree with seafood guy, I personally think the extended magazine is a "whore". Mine do work OK but I hate um. hate the looks and if I wanted that extra round I would have bought a cw series and just been done with it. The 7 round mag seems j"catch as catch can"
some work fine, most really do work fine and those that done't there are some fixes postedon this forum buy wise members to solve it to. I just think in my little mind that if u buy a cm/PM series kahr ur buying it for ccw, so keep it that. If u practice with the extendfedmagazine that extra agrip lkength gives you a different hold and for may going back to the flush fit mag will change POI . Train the way ur gonna carry IMO.

I have two 7 round butt uglly "chariot" style mags that I have maybe shot a half dozen times in 5+ years.

My extended mags would work OK if I didn't actually put pressure on the extension part of it. But if you're in an intense situation, and you fully grip it, you will see the angle of the mag can move.

I think this is what is making the gun think it has an empty mag. I'd never carry with the extended mag anyways, I was only using it to break-in my PM9.

This wasn't isolated to my PM9, as it also happened on my PM40.

But other than that, 200 rounds of Blazer Brass 9mm 115gr in an hour and a half, and 10 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 124gr fired without any issues.

Congrats on the new PM9. You'll have a great carry pistol after you get it broken in.

If you haven't already considered it, look at a grip extension. It won't increase round capacity but it does give you a nice extra surface for gripping that really is nice for shooting. The flat base is great for concealment but an extended base on a backup mag is an idea to consider.

Have fun at your first range visit. I shot 260 rounds on my first visit with my CM9 and it was a fun pistol to shoot.
