CM9 Nothing New !!!

I have now 1150 rounds thru my 3 week old cm9.I have tried all kinds of ammo and 115-124 147 grain some self defense rounds and target ammo.I have shoot the crap out of this gun and well its getting to the point that i just have no more to say but it just wont fail.Not one round.I am .I happened to have this couple next to me at the range and noticed they also were shooting kahrs.They also said they have had not a single issue with the pm9 or the pm45 and they also had the look of the cm9 owners I guess i will just be another stalker on the forum because i have nothing more to add.So a little and enjoy the show.

Congratulations, my new CM9 has been doing very well too. I am at 600 rounds with it so far at about 10 days. I couldn't be happier.

after cleaning,break in and some polishing I gave my CM9 to my brother as a Christmas gift,Bought another CM9 and did the same cleaning,break in and polishing.Now it resides with my wife, for her Off duty EDC purse gun.I just traded for a nice PM9 other wise I would have just got another CM9 and carried on.looks like I am going to be arming my Family with CM9's eventually.I am confident in the little CM9 once I have put the above mentioned time into it .I have had zero issues with any of my little Kahrs.I have had a few MK9's and a PM45 that were just as sweet.

I am very much looking forward to being bored to tears when my CM9 comes back from Kahr.

The other members of my family who own Kahrs (CM9s and PM9s) have had ZERO problems with their guns. They all followed the instructions of the "Prep" and "Lube" stickies and their guns have gone BANG! every time - no FTFs for any reason - just BANG! The Kahrs have become their every day carry guns.

I sent mine back to Kahr only because of a minor ding in the slide and one flaw in the molding of the frame. Neither issue had any effect on the safe, reliable operation of the gun. I just couldn't deal with a brand new gun from a manufacturer with a good reputation for quality having a slightly marred finish - after all, I bought it because of Kahr's good reputation for quality - including the finish. All the other Kahrs I have seen and handled have been perfect inside and out.

Once my new CM9 is returned, I expect to find that they have more than merely live up to their good reputation for quality. My experience with customer service has been excellent so far and I expect it to remain so until this issue is resolved.

has kahr toldu if they are going to replace the frame portion???Just asking as that will entive compl,ete reregistration of ur gun through an ffl dealer.. Just sayin

It will be two weeks Monday. I haven't contacted them since I sent it in - don't want to be a pest. I'm planning on calling or emailing them Monday morning to check on the status. Yeah, I know about the need for re-registration if they replace the frame. They told me they would have to send it back to a local FFL of my choice regardless of whether they replace the frame. My FFL charges $20 for the transfer. Add that to the $73.14 for FEDEX and I'm out $93.14 for problems with a brand new gun that slipped by quality control. I am a bit miffed about that. I'm going to talk to them about it. I really don't think I should have to pay for something that happened because of them - i.e., if their quality control had done their job, the gun would not have been shipped out like it was. I'm hoping they'll see it that way, too - won't know until I ask, though.

About 13 years ago, I bought a new Ford. I'd had it for about 9 months when I noticed something was wrong with the paint. When I took the car to the Ford dealer, they inspected it carefully using a computer-controlled laser device. The paint job was not defective from the factory.

When I looked carefully at it myself, I could see a definite pattern of droplets on the hood, roof, and trunk of the car. Turns out I must have gotten behind a semi that was leaking fluid of some kind and tiny droplets got on my car. I didn't realize it at the time or I would have immediately washed it thoroughly. The paint job was ruined. The problem was clearly not Ford's responsibility. Nonetheless, Ford repainted the whole car for me at their expense. What make of new car/truck do you think I buy when I need a new car/truck?

Point being, that if Ford can do this, I don't think it's too much to expect that Kahr reimburse me for expenses that I should never have incurred. I happen to think that they will. Why? Because they're a good company putting out a good product and it's simply the right thing to do - plus it makes good business sense. (I buy, trade, and sell more than a few guns each year.) I'll let you know how everything turns out. It probably won't be for at least another week or two, though.

Why did you have to shell out the $'s for FedEx? Didn't Kahr CS e-mail you a call tag?

ur first mistake IMO was not in asking that kahrt send a prepaid pick up as Jim C stated. I doubt if u are going to get reimbusement for any of that, just my opinion talking maybe nice tokahr might get u a mag or two out of the good ness of their heart.

What ford did and what a gun maker does is not the same u know that to. they might take cvare of u, I hope so $73 for fed x. wow. didnt u ask your selling dealer to send it back for you, he could have sent it back for a 3rd of that price and if the dealer who sold it to you was right also he could have picked up that expense and saved a good customer.. My opinion to.

Nope, no tag. They told me to send it back UPS or FEDEX overnight, insured, but not before they sent me an "RA" (return authorization). They sent me an "RA" almost immediately. They also told me that I would have to make my own arrangements with a local FFL to whom they could return my gun and to enclose a copy of the FFL with the gun when I sent it. I would be responsible for paying the return transfer fee. I sent the gun in nearly two weeks ago and haven't heard a word from Kahr since then. Except for the email from FEDEX informing me that they had delivered the gun to Kahr the next morning and gotten a signature for receipt thereof, I would have no idea whether the gun ever got to Kahr.

Although I do feel a little in the dark about the repair status of my gun, I must say that all responses to my emails and/or phone calls from Kahr have been prompt and courteous. The Kahr employees with whom I have had contact have been very knowledgeable and eager to help find a satisfactory solution to the problem. Although I would have been delighted to have already gotten my replacement or repaired gun back by now, I never expected it to take less than 4 weeks. In fact, I figured it would take more like 6 to 8 weeks, maybe even as much as 12 weeks. I believe Kahr will make it right as soon as they can, including my expenses. I'm an optimist, but I'm no Pollyanna. Time will tell.

Actually, Jocko, I made my first mistake a long, long time ago.

No one said anything about that. They only said to send it overnight, insured with either UPS or FEDEX. So that's what I did. I nearly fell over when the FEDEX rep told me what it cost, but I was there, I wanted it done NOW, and the Kahr site stated that I would be charged $40 and the repairs would be delayed if I sent it any other way. So, I did it. I wasn't happy about it, though.

CIRCUMSTANCES: None of the local gun shops had a CM9 in stock nor did any of them know when they could get one. Having bought several guns through Davidson's and never having had even one problem with them or any FFL I had used for a transfer, I decided to see if they had any CM9s. They had one in stock and it was on sale. They didn't know when they would have more. I found a dealer about an hour away from me that had the best price I'd ever seen. Since I needed to go up that way for something else anyway, I ordered the gun.

When I noticed that the gun had the two flaws, I contacted Davidson's. They said I could return it for a) replacement, b) repair, c) substitution for another model or make of gun (with price adjustment, if necessary), or d) refund. I specifically wanted the CM9, so I wasn't interested in a refund or a substitution. I thought replacement would be best, but they didn't have any more CM9s in stock and didn't know when they would. That left repair. They then told me that if I sent it back to them for repair, they would send it back to Kahr. Thus, it might be simpler and quicker to send it directly back to Kahr myself. I contacted Kahr and was told that I could indeed send it back to them directly (no need for a FFL transfer fee) for repair. Except for the two flaws in the finish of the gun, everything else looked OK. So, I decided to do that. And now here I am...
