  • got the CM9....wanting the CW45

ok guys....had the CM9 for many months....shoots fine.....no problem with it....but finding myself looking at the CW 45....

just waning a larger piece of lead.....for back packing trips.

anyone have both....and how do they perform in compairson.

they seem not to far off size wise.

I have both. The CW45 has been way more trouble free, and feels much better in the hand to me. Full 3 finger grip feels just right. The cm9 is a two finger grip, and after some initial growing pains, it's cycling 100% now.

I'm more accurate with the CW45 by a slight bit. The recoil to me feels no worse, which was surprising to me. I guess the heavier slide and stiffer spring makes for less felt recoil. I'll for sure be carrying the CW45 and the CM9. The CM9 is so easy to conceal under light clothing. The CW45 will probably be my winter carry. Those two guns make a great combo.

Not sure I'd feel all that safe with the 45 if you're worried about four legged intruders on a back packing trip. I'd probably want something .357mag, .41mag, .44mag, or 10mm for that. YMMV.
I've lost my memory, and I can't remember where I put it.

I have both the CM9 and the CW45...both of mine run 100%...

For some reason I can shoot the CM9 better than the CW45, I guess its because I have been carrying/shooting a PM9 for almost 8 years now and have only had the CW45 for a few months...on my last range trip with it I put most of the rounds into a ragged hole that measured about 4 inches around...it seems to hit a little low right even fron the bench...

I will say they do complement each other very well, I find myself carrying the CW45 on hiking trips, its really light and easier to carry than any of my other big bore pistols

Anyway hope you enjoy if you decide to get one!

P.S. My CW45 will chamber a round by slingshot or simply racking the slide...not really used to that with kahr's...
I have been told I have OCD but I call it CDO because the letters have to be in strict alphabetical order...

but not a pocket gun like ur cm9 is. just to big even though it is a very small 45. IMO: Just sayin
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

The CW45 is one I was looking at when I first started considering a Kahr. I still can't get it out of my head, even though I just picked up a new CM40 today. I know I will end up buying one soon. It's on sale at the LGS for about $365. I liked the way it fit my hand....a lot.
I've read about a few people who have had a lot of problems with the CW45, and just as many that have been flawless. I'm pretty sure the bad experiences are mostly due to not following recommended break-in suggestions on the Tech forum.
If you buy one, let me know how it goes. As I said, I'm pretty sure I will end up with one once I get this CW40 broken in.
