  • Installing night sights on P380?

    Good Morning,

I have an early production P380 (that runs excellent by the way!) and want to install Trijicon night sights on it. Kahr sells the part for $80, but they want $65 ($40 + $25 shipping) to do it on top of the $80.

With the slide & sights being on the smaller end of small -- will any old sight pusher work so that I can do this at home or locally? If not - is there a particular sight pusher ya'll can recommend specifically for small pistols like the P380?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums!
You can probably get the current sights off using a sturdy vise (with padded jaws), a non-marring punch (brass works for me), and suitable hammer. You can fit the night sights to make installation easier, but even then a pusher is recommended to install them. A sight pusher will run you about what Kahr charges to do the install. If you are only panning to use the pusher for this one job, I'd say the factory install is a better option.
    Regards,

Just like he said, about the same cost. Here's one

I had a local shop install mine for $10. They were all kahr guys though. Got quoted $35 for 1911 sights.

If you have a local dealer, get a price to have them send the slide to Kahr. My LGS charged me $115 to have Kahr install Trijicons on a PM45.

My P380, also a RAxxxx, had factory installed Trijicons.

Check out ToolTech an authorized Trijicon installer.

It's possible to destroy the Tritum-gas-filled glass vials and ruin the sights, not to mention botching the job and marring your pistol. Send your slide and let the experts install sights!

i'd have someone else do it kahr or a local smith... if it gets messed up they have to make it right.
Focus on your front sight..... The rest should be blurry!
