I took the Kahr PM9 to the range today and it is still having the same problem. On a full magazine only, the 1st round is fine, 2nd round and sometimes the 4th or 5th gets caught up on feed ramp pointing downward. The follower is catching on the mag release. I want Kahr to correct the problem themselves. It should work out of the box the 1st time. Very frustrated. This is my first gun and WAS going on my CCW permit (if I can every actually trust it). If it doesn't work the next time I'm selling it and buying a Ruger LC9.

my my, my, u have found the issue and it is so so solveable by u instead of sending it back to kahr and wasting time and money to do it. I realize u think it should be perfect and I agree but why send it back when u can take 5 minutes and fix the magazine urself and just be done with it.

Its ur call to make, but it just seems so foolish to send it back. U best buy the LC9 and hope all is well..

I know I have asked this before, but just want to make sure. If I do it myself and it still doesn't work, do I still send it back to Kahr and tell them what I have done? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question. And I do appreciate the advice.

          No.

If it makes you feel better...fix one mag and if it doesn’t work send it back with the one you didn’t try to fix. If it works...fix the other.

And FWIW....I've sent back a Rugar for repair...a full size P90 nonetheless.

#1 ur not gonna damage the gun itself buy doing this mod, all ur doing is smoothig the right side of the follower and taking off a tad of polymer, that also kahr will never know u did it even. At the worst u can just ruin the plastic follower and then get a new one or they will replace it for u, at best it will solve that sticking issues. No one is suggesting take metal off the gun or anything really serious here. Hell u doing the mod and it workig ok might still not solve ur issue but ur rounds issues at around 2/3 tell me it is sticking a tad. Ther slightesthesitation of the followerr from bringing that next round up correctly and in perfect time with the slide action will cause feed issues. It is all about tioming with any semi.

            U can't hurt a damn thing here.

            I will PM u.

            good luck

My suggestion to you would be to call Kahr CS and explain the problems that you are having with a new pistol. Explain to them that you are not pleased with their product.

Ask them for a prepaid label to send it back and ask that they make your pistol right.

Your are correct, it should be right straight out of the box but, unfortunately Kahr can't seem to get this working for them.

A new owner should not have to re-work or modify a new pistol in order to get it to work properly...politely tell Kahr CS just that.
