    Thanks, and wish me luck....

    First, thanks for all that share their stories and knowledge.

    With that, I purchased a CM9 as my Glocks are just too big on many occasions.

    I read the horror stories as well as comments from satisfied customers and took a chance on the CM9 as the size/weight/trigger just did it for me when sampling with other offerings at the local shop.

    I've now reluctantly gone through the official prep (have NEVER "prep'd" a gun in 30 years of shooting and NEVER had an issue) and willl now proceed to go fire some live rounds.

    Hopefully all goes well!

    Two makes of FJM's for about 80 to 90 rounds total. Zero failures of any kind!!! Then it just got too hot. 100 in the blazing sun.

    I'm not nearly as accurate as I am with my Glocks or S&W's, but they're bigger guns and the trade off is perfectly acceptabel. All shots in a 5x8 paper at 10 yards is not a problem.

    So far, I like it!

        JFootin, one of my best lady friends says I am Leonard, on the Big Bang Theory. She says Leonard reminds her so much of me that it's made BBT her favorite show.
        Connsidering the cast, Leonard would be the one I'd pick to be compared too.
        I'm still not sure if that is a compliment or not, at least Leonard got the hot looking babe, for awhile anyway, Better to have got the hot babe for awhile than not at all!!

        Bigbang, welcome to the forum and I'd not worry to much about your CM9 acting up. It seems that they really got that gun right and we have very few problems showing up with it. Enjoy it and as Jocko would say, "shoot it like you stole it". As far as not prepping a gun, I've done that with most of my guns too, but some makers suggest a break in period before CC'ing it. Kimber is worse, they suggest something like 500 or more rounds, and a gunsmith told my buddy on his Ultra Carry II to put at least 800 rounds downrange before trying any SD hp type ammo in it. He tried some Gold Dots at about 400 rounds, and they just wouldn't feed for him at that point.

          Welcome to the forum and you bought the nicest concealable and affordable 9mm I think there is. Doing the prep is good so that you know there is no junk inside. Enjoy the first 100 rounds loosening it up and after that I would bet you will never have a single issue. Probably not in the first 100 either.
          The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

          Want to see what will be the end of our country as we know it???

            Other than the suggested round count, there ain't a thing in the "official prep" that I didn't already use as gospel with all my other guns. I guess I was just trained to keep 'em clean and lubed as if my life was depending on it... Hmm! It just might! As far as the suggested round count goes -- since I didn't experience any failures, I just chalked it up to normal range time.

            Anyway, enjoy that fine little pistol!

              Close to a couple hudred rounds now with various ammo. Zero failures! HOWEVER, on several occasions after the slide locked back and I load a full mag, the slide release would NOT release the slide (like when the mag is empty). Slingshot it and all is well. Any input on that?

              Oh yea, the wife can't hit the barn with it. Yea, no need to worry about her claiming it! Kind of wierd. She's good with the Glocks and S&W snubbies, but just can't get the CM.

                It doesn't release well on an empty mag. Just drop the mag and it is releases well everything is good.
                The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

                  Correct. It is designed to be difficult to release the slide on a empty mag. I am glad you are succesfull using the slingshot method. Kahr recommends people use the slide release. I am convinced this is because most people "baby" the slide using the slingshot method and it can lead to loading problems with short barrel pistols.

                  Your accuracy issues may be due to the long smooth trigger system as opposed to the Glock style system. The Kahr system is more like a double action revolver with a great action job. Your gun is accurate if you do your part. Dry fire drills. If nothing else, you will learn trigger control shooting your Kahr.

                    it is easier and faster to get used to the glock trigger system than thekahr looooong trigger system. They are different by design. Both will shoot um in the same hole but more than likel,y u will shoot more in the same hole with a glock than any kahr. They are what they are, a close up defense gun with no safety sh~!it on them that willgo bang when needed. I try to never compare a kahr trigger to other makers for they are just not the same. If my G19 fit in my front pocket I owuldnot trust it there with their trigger4 system as much as I do with my Kahr. YMMV.

                    I shoot the eyes out of my targets with my G19 at 7 yards where as I do not do that with any of my kahrs, but again my pM9 is myt 24/7 carry peace. That should tellu sumptin.

                      Yes, but it was difficult once I inserted a FULL mag on occasion. Yep, practice, practice, practice. It's "on the list".
