  • Went to my LGS for an LCP

And came out with a Kahr CM9.

I went to look at the PF-9 and LCP because I need a pocket gun (for days like today when it's 102 degrees). I was looking at the used table quickly when I asked about a used PM40 .. the price was high but I was told to check out a "CM"9 -- I got the rundown on the differences , and was shown this tiny little 9mm. For $379 it was a no brainier. I had an LCP and hated it (well, shooting it at least. The LCP is great for what it's designed for SHTF but that's it.) but was going to get another one -- thank god I found this Kahr , $80 more for a 9mm that size from a company like Kahr? SOLD !

I said I'll take it. I didn't know about the CM series , just the P,PM, and CW. I must say its a very sharp looking gun and the perfect size/caliber I wanted.

I have it loaded with 124gr gold dots right now. Tommorow I will do the 200rd break in.

** first Kahr and first question -- it's okay to load a mah with the slide locked and release the slide to strip one right? The manual states do not stick the magazine in , and rack.

welcome aboard. there are two good sticky's u should read that might help u make that first shoot a dandy.

    #1 kahr lube chart

#2 propper prepping of ur kahr

both on the kahr tech section.

Kahr manual states use the slide lock lever to load that first round due to what I think is such a strong recoil assembly to start out with. After a couple hundred rounds the gun will feel totally different. alot smoother and u willbe able to hand rack with ease. Master both ways, . Most all after some rounds down range can hand rack a round with ease. Pracitce does not make perfect but perfect practice does.

welcome aboard, the CM9 has a big following here and very soon u will be givent he cm membership logo on this forum..

You picked up a very good pistol there. And welcome to the forum.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

You'll be far happier shooting the CM9 than the PF9.

                Welcome to KahrTalk.

I believe you've made a very good choice. I bought a PM9 when I realized it could be pocket carried a good deal of the time. My PM9 has replaced most of my P3AT carry and has also taken a bite out of my Glock 26 carry.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

about to get home soon and haven't even checked the manual throughouly yet ... I'm goinna lube her up when I get inside.

I'm familiar with Glock disassembly , XD , and Smith. Is the breakdown process easy? Guess I'm about to find out !

Got her broke down pretty easy , lined up the lines pushed button , pulled the (plastic?) slide stop out.

It seemed like I didn't need the trigger pulled , once I popped the lock out it kind of just slid off ?

Take apart and rotate spring 180° Spin. Don't reverse.
                          Try again.

Totally agree! CM9 is MUCH better.

OP, congrats on a fine gun. Run 200 rounds hard and heavy through it. If it hiccups in the first few mags, don't worry, just keep shooting it. It slicks up pretty quickly.
