  • Dropped off CM9 for Custom Work!

Just dropped off one of my CM9s for dehorn, matte black coating, and install of BIG dots. This will be the longest 3-4 weeks of my life!

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
    --Thomas Jefferson (1764).

I don't recall the cost for the dovetail and the info is at home. I just know that I can have all the work done and it will cost less than the PM9 with factory night sights. I will post pics when it is done. If I like it, I will probably do the other CM9, but with a few variations.

        Did you move PYRO?

I can't wait to see how this turns out. I've been thinking along the same lines.

itsthelaw where are you having the work done? I would like to have mine done in the matte black also, along with the sights installed.

It is a local guy in western NC named Phil Flack. I will post pics after it is done, and you can judge the work. I have heard good things.

He looks to be very competent. It's good to know about another competent gunsmith and customizer in the moutains! I am enjoying my relationship with David Belisle at Appalachian Gunsmithing in Weaverville. Close to 30 years experience and a good reputation. Does it on the side, enjoys it like a hobby while maintaining a full time job. Has one assistant and a turnaround time of about 4-6 weeks. No overhead, so his prices are very good. He is the person who did the stunning trigger job on my J-frame, getting the DA trigger pull down to 4.25 lb with positive primer strikes that make it go BANG every time!
                Very interesting...
