Picked up my brand new CM9 today. I have the lube diagram and prep thread up, and am working my way through them. Then I'm going to sit here and rack, press buttons, and work the slide release repeatedly to hopefully ease things up a bit.
My findings so far:
My particular gun is a hell of a lot stiffer to rack than my friend's PM9. His is unfired, never cleaned, and never lubed. So they should be the same, and yet mine is as stiff as my Springfield XD was. This is disappointing, as this is the single most important aspect of any gun for me since I lack the hand strength rack really stiff slides. I really hope it loosens up a lot after the break-in period. My friend's PM9 is easy to rack, so I am optimistic that after 200-500 rounds mine will be the same or pretty close. The magazine release button in mine requires the button to be pressed very far in before it will drop the magazine. Not sure if this is normal, but I'm thinking I should take a Dremel to it and sand the magazine catch within the grip just a hair.
So the gun and I have our work cut out for us. I can't wait to fire my first rounds through it!
