  • Night sights issue fix for my PM9

My pistol was shooting 4" high at 10 yards.
I returned it to Kahr and the fix was to replace the barrel.
They returned it with a target, five shots at 30 ' all in the 10 circle.
It's a shame that Kahn can not shoot each PM9 before selling the pistol.
After all, this is their top of the line compact.

Fiddlers, I'm confused by the title of your thread. What is the connection between the night sights and the low POI, if the problem was the barrel?

claims they shoot every pistol before it leaves the building. Can u prove otherwise. They do not sight in theire gun, they shoot for a group. I.E. ur bad barrel could be bad and still shot a group 4" high but a tight group and out the door it will go.

thge fine tuning of a handgun is then left up to the new owner. Kashr could not sight in my PM9 as I am a lefty and I just don'tshoot that good anyhow.

U might have gotten a bard baqrrel that can happen, not often do we see or hear that either but I think ur wrong on the statement that kahr does not test shoot their guns. Just sayin

glad they got u up and running though.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Well if nothing else, they have to fire one round and certify that it came from that gun for the stupid gubberment requirements. But I doubt they are shooting for any kind of accuracy when they do that. Having someone fire each gun and do any kind of adjustments for sighting would add serious $$ to the labor cost and therefore price out the door.
I just love that new Kahr smell

In most manufacturing tolerances are there so that the vast majority of products fall within them. There will be a minimum number of discrepancies. Depending upon the product, it might not be cost effective to test 100% of them if, say 1% will be out of spec.

My only point was to let others know that to my surprise, what I thought was a NS height problem, actually was a faulty barrel. I really did not expect a barrel problem.

I understand the cost issue. Guess I have been accustom to more. This is my first Kahr.
Almost all US manufacturers have dropped test firing and including a target, except the custom built pistols. This is unfortunate.

                Pistol Back and on Target

To my surprise, Kahr Service replaced the barrel (not sights) and supplied a 5 round test target at 30 feet. I fired it today with the same centerline results and fired 15 different types of ammunition thru it without a failure.

My two favorite rounds for EDC were very accurate, Hornady's Zombie 115 grain Z-Max and Black Hills 115 grain JHP+P.

The PM9 is now ready for EDC along with the new Bear Creek holster I just received from Doug.
