I've started slingshoting with snap caps. It loads the dummy round and the slide goes into battery? I may try it with live ammo next week when I go to the range...

It's strictly about your technique.
You can't "****" it. Gotta be definitive and release your grip at the right time to allow the slide to snap back. If you ride it in any way it'll jam on you.
I do both methods and still occasionally screw up and don't release properly and my K9 and CM9 will both jam. It's all operator technique.sigpic

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).
