  • New CM9 for my birthday!

Well I turn 40 this week, and in order to ward off any melancholy my wife bought me a new CM9 today!

A little history on me. I am a long time shooter and I carry an LCP everywhere it is legal to do so. 100% carry. All the time. All. The. Time. No exceptions.

I have found over the years that smaller is better, for me. I have a Kel Tec P3AT that took some attention to get reliable. I have a PF9 that took a great deal of effort to get reliable, and I still have a nagging feeling about that gun. I settled on the LCP and it is a dream to carry. I mostly carry it in my right hip pocket in a Desantis Nemesis holster. Love it.

My only issue lately has been that I really would like to carry a 9mm, but I do not want to carry IWB. I have decided that pocket carry is the right method for me. Anyway, I went on a mission to find a pocketable 9mm. I have looked at them all. If it is 9mm and small - I have researched it. It is great that there are so many choices out there. I settled on the CM9 and I am very happy with it.

Looking forward to getting to the range this week to run a couple hundred rounds through it and get the break in done. I cleaned and lubed it tonight and I am going to dry-fire and rack the slide a bunch between now and when I get time to hit the range.

Anyway, I apologize for the long intro post. I am happy to be part of the Kahr family now. This forum helped me quite a bit in my decision. I lurked here awhile.

Welcome & congrats on your CM9 from another LCP convert! Have had my CM9 since September & it has become my 24/7 carry gun, no exceptions. Carry in front R pocket, or IWB in a PJHolster @ 4 o'clock. Both methods very comfy. The LCP has become a safe "Queen". CM9 is way more fun to shoot & the ammo is cheaper. You're going to love it. Enjoy!

What a great gift idea! Now I know what to ask for when I turn 40 this March. Now I just have to convince the wifey it really is a gift that keeps on giving.

        Welcome aboard!

Congrats on the purchase and Happy Birthday. 40? Jeeze I remember 40, of course when I turned 40 we were still drawing the outlines of buffaloes on the cave walls. Enjoy that CM9, I love mine.
I just love that new Kahr smell

The CM9 replaced my LCP, and I haven't looked back!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am pretty enamored with this little gun. Really looking forward to the first shooting range trip.

Since I am planning to convert from my LCP to the CM9 I am glad to hear that many others have succeeded in that endeavor!! It is larger and heavier, but not by much. I think I will be able to adjust to it. Some of my dress pants might require front pocket instead of rear.

Yogi, I recognize you from the old Elsie Pea forums! Good to find you here.

Brett, I did hang out at the "Old" LCP site, but not so much anymore. The pic shows my 2 holsters for the CM9, a Galco pocket holster & the PJHolster IWB, both excellent choices. The Galco pocket holster came with a metal mouth re-inforcement which I cut off, works much better now. PJHolster also makes a nice pocket holster, my brother carries his CM9 in one with no issues.

Happy Birthday....I have shoes ur age. haha. I also went from an LCP to a CM9. There is still a time and place for the little elsie pea but the 9mm is a constant companion for me also 90% of the time. Enjoy and welcome. I too like Yogi was an LCP forum visitor but not so much any more.

I would cut 6 inches off to be 40 again. Just sayin
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Happy birthday and congrats on the new CM9. You'll be a lot happier with the 9mm, especially for CC.
