  • CM9 or PM9 is the PM worht theextra Dough

I have a couple Sigs and a Glock I shoot alot but this one will be my EDC that I will shoot to get comfortable with . Is the PM worht the extra dough or is the CM plenty for a EDC?

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great info on both guns here.
Im more than happy with my cm9, I will say I ended up coating the slide,(gun kote black) and adding sights,(wanted the xs big dots, not the factory night sights) and bought some extra mags. So im close to the cost of a pm now, buts its exactly what I want in a EDC. Ide say the only thing that would be worth the extra money up front for the pm, is if you want the night sights, or the dlc coating. Other than that, go with the cm, pick up an extra mag or 2, and spend the rest on ammo! (or making it exactly what you want.... like i did)

Close to the same thing, but there are differences.

PM has polygonal rifling, which has more accuracy in longer barrels. Negligible here and you need to keep it clean from lead like Glocks. Also has nice roll marks on the slide, forged slide stop and trigger, bevelled slide, choice of black slide and optional factory night sights.

The CM9 has MIM trigger and slide stop, simple engraving on a more squared slide, traditional rifling, and comes in SS slide only. Everything else internally is the same.

Both great pistols. I personally have the CM9 and added a front night sight and CT lasergrip. It's been a sweet rig.

NOPE -- IMHO. Have both, sold the PM9, still have a CM9 and a CW9 in rotatation with the Glocks. CM is just as good. Who needs polygonal rifled barrel just for shooting within 7-15 yds? Just save the $$$$ on ammo.

        Happy shopping.

CM9 is a keeper. Take your extra money and get lots of ammo.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

no, not worth the extra dough

neither one is more accurate or dependable or smaller.....

Just sayin... the major change is the front sight attachment... that only matters if you're wanting a weird front sight.

Not to me it isn't I have had both. Buy the CM9, take the difference in price and buy ammo so that you can master the pistol. It's a little harder to shoot than a full sized gun.

If the CM9 was available when I bought the PM9, I would have picked up the CM9. This isnt a bulls-eye-shooting gun. It's a self defense pistol. The fancy pants barrel in the PM9 is cool, but I doubt you will see an accuracy difference in the real world. One magazine would have been fine with me. In my opinion, save your $$ for ammo.

. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I liked my CM9 so well that I bought an MK9 as a companion for it. One big advantage to having both, I have 4 mags I can use in either gun. (got a free mag with the CM9), 2 with the MK9. Now I have a perfect holster gun and very good pocket carry gun.

CM9 is not an option in CA.

                            PM9 is approved.

And, of course, because it has not been "approved" yet, the CM9 is an unsafe gun.
