I logged in this morning to start a thread with similar sentiments concerning my PM9. Because of the PM9 I've sold my Glock 26 and find I hardly ever carry my Kel Tec .380 or Springfield .45. My PM9 loaded with 124 +P is for me a near perfect SD carry selection.

Okay, so now the "group" is two members strong. I have confidence we will continue to grow. All are welcome.

I call to order our first meeting. Addressing the group, I introduce myself. Hi, I'm Mike and I HATE my PM9.

If u had the ol blunt nose PMJ9 kahr u would not say that. Don't ask me , but u can ask CJB.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Its good to have some haters. Those haters tend to sell pistols at a loss an that lets some of use buy a fine shooters for less money. hehehe

I bought my first kahr off a very well seasoned shooter older that had major cycling issues with a cw9 and threw out a for sale price I could not pass up. I did nothing but clean and lube that pistol and it has fired right at 1200 rounds now and has been a great pistol. I went an bought a cm9 that has a few less rounds fired but is just as good . Both will sling shot reliably and the larger cw9 will hand cycle rideing the slide s l o w l y . Just like a big boy gun.

Now the man that hated this pistol did end up shooting my/his old cw9 and got comfotible enough he went and bought a new cm40 a while back and it runs fine too. Now all companies can and do make a turd now and then, but some owners a good pistol into truds do to lack of skills with small pistols or ammo that was used. You may find a cm/pm series will not cycle 115gr loads when new, give that same pistol 100 or 200 rounds of 124gr ammo and it more than likely has loosend up enough it will then shoot that lite weight ammo just fine too. Its still up to a owner to see if it has a favorate HP but that is the same with many handguns.

Anyhow I am truely glad some get PO'd and sell there handguns cheap enought to make a deal for some of use. Thanks

At the risk of offending any long time pistol owners I offer the following:

I am a novice with pistols even though I've been shooting since I was 11. Never pistols of any variety.

I am more inclined to blame myself for issues and problems due to my relative noobiness. I suspect longtime shooters are less inclined to blame themselves for problems because they've seen it all, done it all. Even the heroes among us who are military trained aren't immune to this.

Kahrs's appear to my noob brain to be less forgiving of bad habits and sloppy manipulation than any other firearm out there.

Try a little humility and consider that it might be YOU and not the pistol. It could turn a turd into a gem with no cost to you except a tiny bit of crow. Which by the way ain't half bad with a little horseradish. Ask me how I know this.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Not even close. Try the Rohrbaugh sometime.

Actually, Tinman makes a very good point. Ok, a few. Yes, there are pistols that are much more unforgiving, his points are still good. A good horseradish will make most anything go down better, that or some Tabasco/Texas Pete.

Complete newbie to the forum, but have had two PM9s (well, my wife has one of them) for about five years. Just thumbing through the manual and found that Kahr has a third solution for ftf on the full mag. Take out one round. It changes the angle of the cartridge as it is fed.

FWIW, I concur with the advice given here: if you run it long enough and keep it clean, eventually (if not right away) you can feed without using the slide release. I push the gun through the slide (for lack of a better way to describe it) and let my weak hand just run off the end, so to speak.

CORRECTION: I believe the tip about "one less round" is on the Kahr website and not in the manual. In any event, it works--I stumbled upon it.

vervain, welcome to the forum! I have a CM9. Very occasionally since new, I would get a ftf using low powered range ammo. Although that hasn't occured in a long time now. I use Speer Gold Dot 124 gr +p Hollow Points as my carry round. My gun seems to love it. I can feel and hear the extra slick way those rounds cycle in my gun, with not a hint of misfeeding.

Sometimes you will find that a pistol has a preference. I have a still new Taurus 738 TCP 380 that has some ftfs with range ammo. But it has reliably fed every Hornady Critical Defense 90 gr HP round I have ever fed it. So that is my carry round for that gun and I have fed it enough of those rounds that I am confident to carry it. I will continue to break it in using range ammo and I expect the ftfs to go away. I have read too many posts from other TCP owners who say their guns feed everything reliably. My issues are probably with my weak, crippled hands and wrists. So I, too, need some more breaking in with this gun. But at under $200, it is turning out to be a great BUG.
                  Very interesting...

I agree, and I have a horseradish story that brought me to my knees! Don't ask me how I know.
