Got My New CM9

Picked up my new CM9 from my dealer yesterday, and must admit I did not look forward to taking it down.

However, after reading and rereading the manual and watching the video multiple times, I surprised myself by disassembling, cleaning, lubing, and reassembling the gun without messing it up. In fact, what was the hardest part was getting that recoil spring and guide rod back in place.

And I forget who suggested it, but using a chopstick to hold the slide in the proper position to remove the slid stop pin worked great. Thank you. It made the task a lot easier for me then it would have been. I also used it to get the slide stop back in place.

Now to the range next week to see how it functions. Range report to follow.

Just my 2 cents, but I'd forget that 7 round mag. Mine took a long time to fine tune (nose dives and feed problems) and since I never carry with it any way it isn't worth the trouble. I think prcatice with what you carry is the best idea.

I also had issues with my 7 round mag. Kahr was nice enough to exchange it for a 6 rounder. A working 7 rounder would have been really nice to have for carry as a spare.

I can take my cw9 down with out any tools. Quick and simple, pushing the pin out can be tough sometimes but my fingers do it. I grip it like you would a glock holding slide back with one hand. Push the pin in with my middle finger on left hand. Then just take the pin out with left hand.

The reason I need the chopstick to keep the slide in the correct position is because arthritis prevents me being able to hold it back with one hand. Maybe 15 years ago, but not now.

Interesting, because I shot a friend's CM9, he let me borrow, and it fed flawlessly using both a 6 and 7 round mag.

I guess when I get to the range I will see how it goes.
