Where is the nice plastic case with my CM9?

Some of the video reviews I've seen, as well as Kahr's website show the CM9 with a nice plastic case. But all I got with mine was a lousy cardboard box! When did they start to cheapen out on us?

I guess there are some people who actually prefer to have that type of box. But the nice thing about most semi-auto cases is that they usually have room for extra mags, accessories, and are durable enough to carry them in. The box mine came in doesn't have room for anything other then the supplied lock.

Now I will have to go out and buy a carrying case to take her to the range, which is less money spent on ammo.

I got a plastic case with my CM9. I took the gun out of it, put the case on the shelf, and have never looked at it since. The cardboard makes sense to me.

Gee! You chose the Cheap Model! That's just another cost-cutting change... unfortunately, for the Premium Models, too.

I have 7 Kahrs with 7 plastic boxes, so far.

I have three Kahrs, 1 plastic box and 2 cardboard. The plastic case was the first I purchased 18 months or so ago.

All of the handguns I bought new in the 1970s came in cardboard boxes, except a new S&W Model 29-2 .44 Magnum, which came in a wooden presentation case. In fact, it was the 1990s before I ever bought a new gun in a plastic case.

Most people store whatever the pistol/revolver comes in anyway. A plastic pistol box really isn't any way to carry a gun to the range. The more you shoot, the more you'll realize that you need a few accessories along with you. I see a range bag in your future, so don't sweat the cardboard box.

You want the gun or the box?..... j/k lol just stick it in a cheap holster if u have one and throw it in some kinda small carry bag. (btw I got a cardboard box w/ my cm9 too and its been sitting on a shelf also I dont really care about plastic gun boxes all that much they are nice when u need one though, to each his own)

The gun is more important of course, but it is a little bothersome to me after I've done my homework on the gun I wanted to buy, some them advertised as coming with a nice plastic case, and then not getting one.

BTW... I bought a nice Soft Armor carry bag for it today, with pouches for 4 magazines.

I've had my CM9 for about 1 1/2 years, so I got it before they started putting them in cardboard boxes. It's not that nice. Sits on a shelf with the others. I have had several guns, especially older ones, that came in cardboard boxes. My J-frame, purchased about a year ago, came in a box designed for shipping, not like the neat older boxes.

I've only used the cases for shipping them back for service. I have them stacked in a cabinet so that I can see the info on the label. I added the date acquired as well.

Only my Champion 1911 is in its case and the safe. The rest are deployed and loaded. My extra P380 is out of sight and stands ready in the safe. It's older sibling stays on my side.

I like the plastic cases but you can't store much in them... manuals, paper work, and those danged locks.

Hell, I'd give you mine, except the shipping cost ain't worth it.

Some of these cases can be useful. My Ruger P95 came with a decent plastic case with room for two extra mags and a mag loader (Good enough for me at the range), and the P95 is considered somewhat of a budget pistol. I paid less for it then my CM9.

Oh well... I'm just a practical guy who likes to get more for his money.

Be happy with the cardboard box... some years later they may all shipped to LGS in bulk ... we may just bring the new toy home in a brown bag.

Good for you, Scoundrel, you gesture to offer.. I was just wondering who don't care about the plastic case would offer to swap with the OP for his "cardboard"
