  • IWB holster input

I bought a PM9 recently and will be applying for my CCL in a week. So I have about 3 months to decide on an iwb holster.

I hear a lot of good thjngs about the crossbreed style with 2 clips and think I may be leaning towards that style. But I fear that large of surface space on a holster may be hot in the summer time.

    Here are my thoughts:

Crossbreed (2 clips) - more stable hold on the gun, won't slip as much with two clips. I fear it may feel hot or bulky.

Single clip style- easier to put on/off, less surface area to get hot. But may slip forward or backward angle?

    Any input?

jeffk, appreciate the recommendation but what is you thoughts on the single clip type vs double clip?

I have single clip and double clip depending on what I am wearing. I like the "tuckable" models.
I have tried the Crossbreed's and prefer all leather, for me they conform better to your body for thinner profile. Mine are from Bruce @ www.northstarholsters.com

This is a record for jfootin not having shown up and recommending a PJ Holster, he must be sleeping in today :P

I had a theis 2 clip (crossbreed style) and I liked how secure it fit but it is a lot of holster for a small gun. A single clip that will keep the pistol from rolling/canting when you do not want it to is definitely enough for a pistol the size of the kahr. I guess it sort of depends on your body shape too, a larger person can carry a larger holster for comfort easier than a smaller person sometimes. I do like the dual clip but I am not using a single clip Harwell clip and go and it's working well so far.

I also have a PJ holster and remora (that I don't use often). I would recommend Silent Thunder if you have a fat wallet.

I agree with what others have said, I had a Theis (Crossbreed style) for my LC9 and liked it, but then I got a Foxx Trapp for my P9. I'll never go back for a small light gun.

                Re: IWB holster input

I switched from a Crossbreed style holster to a N82 Tactical Professional holster for my CM9. Much more comfortable.

Excellent holster. I use this type for my full size guns. But way too much holster for my PM9.

Just the ticket for my PM9. My favorites in this category are PJ, Hume, and Rosen CLP. Of the three, the PJ is the most compact and the one I use most often.

I also have a PM9 and have to say + 1 on both the PJ holsters and the Remora. Also would recommend a Mica pocket holster as well.

The best holster I have found for forget-it-is-there comfort 24/7 with my CM9 is the PJ IWB Holster. There are so, so many members here that will concur. Paul is a great guy and a real gun lover, and he performs magic with kydex - making the holster incredibly comfortable to where you can't tell it is there whether sitting, standing or moving about. It is like the mass of the gun disappears, becoming one with your body. I carry mine with a 15° cant just behind my hip - the sweet spot. I prefer the linked one with the over the belt clip. It is available with j-hook, c-hook and velcro attachment method, and tuckable is an option. I have a tuckable one with velcro for if I need total concealment, but normally wear the above under a loose shirt.
                        Very interesting...

Thanks guys. Glad I checked in on here. I believe I am now leaning away from the crossbreed style.

Now to decide on kydex or leather.
