  • CM9 frame question

Is this normal for the frame to look like this? Look at the polymer rails on the frame, it looks so unfinished, is this how they come out of the mold? Are the PM9 frames any better finished than this? It makes it look so cheapy, even lesser quality guns I've owned never looked like this. Can i sand off all the plastic burrs and make it smooth without affecting function?

Don't do anything to it, including no sanding. It will smooth itself out through use. However do put some gun oil or greese on it to shine it up a bit. The slide bearing surface is at each end where you see the silver rectangles at the front and rear of the slide. It rides on these surfaces during recoil. Just oil it and shoot it.
PS, Nobody ever sees this area when the gun is assembled and ready to shoot.

what Ikeo says is the way to go. LEAVE IT ALONE. the slide does not run on the polymer rails. They are there for additional strength and to help guide the slide on the gun properly when re-installing it. Any high spots on that polymer will be worn off by slide action. Ur frame looks fine. sanding the sliver will only make u feel better . It will add nuttin to the over all performance of the gun.

Ur OK, just shoot it like u stoleit. Ur grip is the same quality as the PM grips, no difference in the two.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Cool thanks guys. Can't wait to go shoot it, just waiting for the slide to get back from it's cerakote job.

What is said above is true. And the polymer places you've photogged aren't really rails, they're more like guides. Yours looks a little rough, but they will smooth down. Don't be surprised to find some black polymer shavings here and there. No biggie -- although some guys go absolutely ape-shitte when they see that. Mostly glocksters looking to pick a fight.....

Looks good to me. SHOOT IT! SHOOT IT!
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Couldn't tell if there was a chip in the left front frame rail. Some polymers have that and people worry about them.

                  CM9 frame question

I lost some bits of black plastic during the first couple range trips, but the plastic mostly holds the steel bearing surfaces the slide runs on. It's normal and will settle itself down shortly.

Just enjoy shooting it, you're both ok.
