  • PM9 Back to Kahr

The broken follower thread in the tech section got a little too long but it did get me thinking about the three followers that broke in my 9mm PM9 mags.

So, after three e-mails to three different Kahr CS reps, it is on its way back to Kahr to be inspected for any possible problems that may have caused the followers to break in the first place. Jay asked that all of my 5 mags be sent in with the pistol also.

Jay was nice enough to supply me with a pre-paid FedEx label.

Now I'll sit back and wait. I don't care how long it takes as long as it and the mags are 100% when they comes back.

Mine took four weeks to the day to get it back. Well worth the wait!

I sent them a barely functioning POS that shot 18 inches below POA and they returned an accurate, fully functioning machine. Slide and nite-sights were replaced, as well as complete inspection of entire PM9 and all the magazines I sent them. Absolutely no problems since returned. Also, not a single mark from the repair anywhere on the PM9. Kahr Smiths do nice work!!

    Again...well worth the wait!

I'm in no hurry to get it back, it only sits in my safe anyway.

They probably only spend about an hour actually working on the pistol. I doubt they even looked at it yet

I just hope they can correct whatever might be wrong.

Some require more tinkering by the owner or more returns to Kahr, but they will get it working correctly. It can be painful sometimes, especially if that's your only carry pistol or magazine! Spares are good!

It took four weeks for my K9. It is in a queue so they probably have not looked at it yet. I am sure you will be very pleased when you get it back. My K9 had an issue of dropping magazines. The tech worked on it for a while and then decided to replace the frame. I got it back about four weeks ago. 350 rounds later, I am one happy camper because the gun is flawless. It is DEFINITELY worth the wait. I have nothing but praise for Kahr customer service.

FWIW, I received my PM9 back today.

Not much to tell from the Tech. Service Work Sheet...

INSPECTED. REWORKED FEED RAMP. LUBED AND TEST FIRED OK.

Only time will tell I guess. Cleaned it, put back into safe.

I made time this afternoon to get my PM9 to the range after getting it back from Kahr on 3/27.

I put a total of 180 rds. thru the pistol using 4/6 rd. mags. This round count consisted of the following ammunition:

Winchester 147 gr. Bonded HP (#RA9B)
Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr. non+P Flex Lock bullet
Speer 124 gr. +P GDHP short barrel load (#23611)
My reloads with the Sierra 125 gr. TM FMJ bullet

The little pistol performed 100% and...no broken mag followers!!!

I guess when they say reworked feed ramp that one who has been on this forum for some time would realize that they did a mod to it to get the ramp away from the followers. nOT MUCH EXPLANATION NEEDED i WOULD TINK.

gLAD THE GUN IS DOING WHAT IT SHOULD DO..

. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
