What's the deal with the followers breaking. I have a cm40 and 2 extra magazines that I've had for a little over two months. 2 of the 3 mags have the front tab on the followers broke off. I broke one a few weeks ago. After reading on this forum that this is common, I emailed kahr last weekend. I received a reply saying they're sending one out ASAP. I haven't seen it yet. So I go to the range yesterday and another one breaks. Both followers broke with less than 200 rounds having gone through the mags. This is my first kahr and I'm a little disappointed. They should send out a dozen with every mag at this rate.

in ur case I would email kahr and tell them it has busted 2 of ur followers and that they need to issue a pick up and take the gun back and fix it. It ain'tgonna get better, They will issue u a pick up on it. get it fixed right
sending u a dozen is like a flat tire, u can air it back up but until u fix the flat it is gonna give u the same issue or u can put some fix a flat in it and get buy alittle longer but the issue is still there. The more of u owners who have this issue that insist kahr take it back and fix it right the sooner they are gonna get this thing fixed right IMO.. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Re: Front tab on follower breaking off
I think they will actually check the tolerances on your gun, the feed ramp is smacking those followers HARD. might need a little tweaking to the feed ramp or a check to make sure other parts are in spec.

It took me 5 days and three people at Kahr to acknowledge my inquiry about PM9 mag failure.
I finally got Jay D'Andrea to respond and my PM9 is back there now, or I hope it is.

Front tab on follower breaking off
My pm9 broke a follower on its first range trip. I called kahr and they issued a shipping label. A couple weeks later I got it back and it has gone over 1000 rounds since without a problem. My suggestion is to have them fix it. Something is causing it and needs to be addressed.A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

same issue
I am having the exact same issue with a new CM9. Last month I took it out for the first time and put 200 rounds of Speer Lawman 115gr through it and had around 10 failures to feed and the follower broke. They sent me a new follower and I took it out shooting again this past weekend, and I had the same failure to feed issues (6 times out of 100 rounds) BUT the follower did not break. Now it is going back as an RMA. It was also Jay D'Andrea who took my emails and he has been very helpful.

I got a couple followers in the mail for mine a few days after I emailed Kahr. I ran another 50 rounds through the gun only loading 3 rounds each time in the mag to test the mag release area and the last round lock back theory and the follower didnt break and there was no sign of damage and all rounds went flawlessly. I'll try it again next week sometime.

Front tab on follower breaking off
I received my cm40 back from Kahr last week. The paper work said they polished the ramp and reworked the barrel. I'm not sure what reworking the barrel means but I took it to the range this weekend. I fired 11 magazines of ammo through it. No broken followers and no rounds hanging up on the ramp. However, all of the first 8 magazines had the slide lock open like the mag was empty when it wasn't. It happened at different round counts so it didn't correlate to a particular round count. The last 3 mags fired ok. I'm wondering if it needed some break in rounds after the work they did or if I have a new problem. I would have fired it more but I was tired and just wasting ammo after awhile. I'll fire it again next weekend and see what it dose. I don't want to bet my life on this weapon at this point.
