Am I just a wuss?

I've had my CM 9 since November and like it for my CCW. It's just what I wanted. Fits in my pocket and even my wife doesn't know when I have it with me. I have about 400 rounds through it with no malfunctions other than one FTE within the first few rounds, and I probably limp wristed that one.

Now for the reason for me wondering if I'm just a baby. Is it just me or does anyone else trigger bite them back? After just a few rounds my trigger finger feels like someone's been hitting it with a hammer. It doesn't matter if it's a full power SD round or a light target round. I've tried positioning my finger all different ways on the trigger with no difference.

I'm all ears because I like this gun and would like to shoot it more. I'm going to continue to carry it regardless.

I'd call or email Kahr. I haven't heard of this on Kahrs before but have on other guns where you get trigger slap. I don't recall what the issue was now but it's not right.

The trigger shouldn't slap you back each time you fire a shot.

This isn't to say your not a baby or a wuss, Mikey could be right too, just makes it even worse if you don't live for pain and suffering as some of us here do.

If my finger slips down too far, it starts to hurt, so I try to use the pad of my finger and place it in the middle of the trigger where I try to pull straight back. If it really gets to be a problem, I'll put on a glove I carry in my range box for that purpose. I use a Nomex flight glove with a fine leather palm. They're available from some tactical police supply places in black or green, and maybe desert tan. The leather is thin and gives a good tactile feel... no padding. I've been using my USAF green/grey leather (kidskin?) Nomex flight gloves for many decades... for all kinds of stuff... yard work wore out the right hand on many pairs!

I have no problem with the trigger on my CM40... but the trigger guard lets me know it's there if I have my finger too low on the trigger.

I got my new CM9 in January and have put 600 rds through it. The most at one time was 150. My trigger is smooth as silk. I've heard of people having trouble with the grips hurting their hands also, but haven't even noticed it. Maybe I am so old I am numb or their is something wrong with yours. I would at least ask Kahr about it.

I shoot my Mosin M-38.

I've heard some people complain about some CZ triggers, but mine doesn't bother me.

It could be my finger is too low on the trigger and it is in fact the guard that is getting me.

I'll try repositioning my finger higher on the trigger at the range next time and if it still happens I'll contact Kahr.

If it's the guard I call that trigger pinch, not to be confused with trigger slap, a different animal.
I have a Mosin M38 too and it's not unpleasant to shoot at all to me. I was actually surprised how well it shoots and actually pretty accurate even with me behind it working the controls.
I had a wonderful 1 hole group at about 15 yards with it, until I fired the second shot and then it kind of opened up some.

I just picked up my Mosin. Walked in to a LGS and there it was. I couldn't resist. It isn't the recoil so much as the steel butt plate can be a little 'coarse'. Mine is not accurate with me on the working end. I mentioned being old...my eyes are about 20 years older.

I think I misread the whole deal. Your talking M38 rifle, I was talking Mosin revolver. I have the rifle too but haven't shot it yet. I've heard they hurt equally on both ends, Law of physics and all that.

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out what's happening.

If it's the side of your finger that hurts (the part facing down when your finger's on the trigger), then it's the trigger guard.

Otherwise, either it's the trigger or you're just a wuss :sly:

Yeah M-38 Carbine. I call it 'The Mule'. After one range session of 24 rounds I bought a rubber recoil pad.

The 200 round session was to follow Kahr's recommended break in so I could start carrying the thing with confidence...and I have complete confidence in the pistol. It goes bang every time I pull the trigger, and feeds and spits out everything I've given it. At 3-5 yds it's plenty accurate too.

I'm still not really used to the length of the pull though, and now that spring is coming here in the great white north...as I type this it's snowing like mad with 16" forecast...I want to get out and get better with the pistol. The more I think about this it's seeming like it's the guard getting me on recoil.

I have a Mosin 91/30 that's a bear to shoot. An older gentleman at my club suggested either standing or sitting kind of sideways to shoot it and it made a huge difference in my shoulder pain.

I got my son an M38 Carbine for Christmas and it's a pussycat compared to the 91/30. Shoot either equally well with terrible eyes. Meaning not so hot at 100yds. Fair to middlin at 50 yds.

Cool guns for $200 and under (YMMV)
