My wife's birthday is in May and I was thinking of getting her a PM9 Black Rose Edition. Does Kahr still manufacture this pistol? Would I have to special order it? Does anyone know if it is symbolic of anything or is it just a damn good looking pistol for a woman?

I don't think they make it anymore but I deo think they still have um in stocvk. I also will tell you the black rose willhave the lunt nose version of the sldie to. which is outstanding.
Never one to say no, but u best letyour wife see a PM9 kahr that isnot a black rose as the internals are all the same, including the stout recoil spring assemby. Very few women can rack a PM9 slide and I say very few. If she can't properly rack the slide then IMO ur wasting money on this gun, for she just has to be able to clear a jam, or lock the slide back etc, basic functions of every semi auto. Itis trly a dan good looking gun IMO, no doubt about that... My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Easy there, Cowboy. I carry one!... LOLOriginally posted by Sage View Post..... or is it just a damn good looking pistol for a woman?
Whats with the woman thing? Guys can like a little bling, too! I love the looks of my Black Rose PM9 .... like a fine watch.
I'ts only trumped by a full polish K40 I just purchased .... can't wait to get it and post pictures.
BUT ... Jocko is right. The slide is stout. My wife can't clear it, or chamber it manually. My daughter is an ER trauma nurse and has more hand strength .... she can handle it ok .... but it would be wise to test it out first.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).

Do you or anyone else know if the Black Rose has any symbolism or represents anything? My wife has no problem racking my PM9.

Oh, I've heard all kinds of conspiracy theories when they first came out. I heard people who were playing armchair lawyers saying that the "Black Rose" was a symbol of death and had a "dark history" and that would be used against you in a court of law.
I say BS. The Black Rose is just a Black Rose. Looks great it's not any more an indicator of intent than owning a handgun is.
Same would apply to a Sig "Eclipse", or "Scorpion", or Desert Eagle ... and on and on and on.

wouldn't matter to me if there was any symbolism behind the name or not. If I liked it , I would buy it, screw symbolism. Its just a adjective given tothe gun, nuttin more.. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I kind of wanted one of those "Commemorative Coyote Model LCP" pistols that Ruger did after the governor killed a coyote with one! I think that they made 500 of those.
