Don't need to be without a gun. But as it is its $&: I have got the spring out I will call kahr send them the pic and see if they will send me a new spring. I hope that they will but how do I trust this weapon now? That is the real question? It only had about 400 rounds through it

        EMAIL with picture:

He might send you a whole recoil assembly. That shouldn't happen if the spring wasn't out the front before you began shooting the last time!

That happened to me with my T40. Ever since I install the spring with the closed end in that direction. I am well aware that this is opposit of what Kahr recomends in the manual but the closed end will not pop out of the gun like this. Also, the open end of the spring can't make it over the flange of the guide rod. I have never had issues since i changed directions of the spring.

I does make one wonder why Kahr just doesn't use springs that are closed on both ends? The are literally only cents more cost wise fron spring manufacturers.

It's working now but I don't know how I feel about it. Really want a new spring assemble. And then a couple hundred rounds before I feel safe to carry it again and with the way ammo is right now that's going to be hard.

I also wonder why they didn't use a spring that is closed on both ends. However, looking at my CM9 I don't see how the spring could get out like that if it were put together correctly. When I put mine back together I turn the spring a little to be sure it is seated, keep the end of the spring up and have never had a problem. Nearing 1000 rounds through it.

What deadeye just said is the answer. What happened was: The last time you put it back together, the end of the spring may have been sticking out. Although, you probably would have noticed it....hmmmm, IDK. How many rounds were you able to shoot before it become inoperable?

I took a pliers to the very end of the open end and squoze it a bit so it was just a little straighter and it hasn't happened to me again. I think the spring getting worn in and softer helped too. It's a simple effective fix. Reliable too. Just don't straighten it too much.

like the open end of that recoil spring, the tip is pulled to far in. It actualy should be more open than the rest of the coils. I think u just got a bad spring.Kahr will gladly sened u a new one. If the spring is like it should be and the spring is installed correctl, it will not pop out,PERIOD. It is a good set up.

In the mean time while ur waiting on a new spring, just ake a pair of pliers and open up that outter coil and u willbe perfectly fine. Maqny here also report thatif the install with the open tip towards the top of the slide, then it can't ever do what ur seein..

If u realy feel this is a deal reaker for u and u can't trust the weapon, then peddle it, nuttin we are gonna tell you is gonna make u feel any better.it was a bad spring , nuttin else, it happens, don't make a big deal out of it, geta new spring, fixt his one and shootit like u stole it
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

with ur thoughts and deadeye's also. That spring was ticking out before. The springs do not work their way out once installed correctly..

It appears from the picture that the end of the coil is facing up toward the slide. However, it is bent inward toward the center of the coil.

Looks like you have something there. It's a little hard to tell with the angle of the photo, but it looks like it is squeezed in a little.

It was on about my 30 round that it happened. I really don't think that some of the spring was hagging out last time I put it together. I would have Seen that !! Don't know how I feel about the fact that it has happened to others! Or that the answer is to flip the spring around. Realy just need a new spring and a couple hundred rounds will. Then ill see how I feel. Also the pic was taken at home after me and a guy at the range tried to get it out that's why it's jacked up in the pic. Thanks for the I was going to say help but I'm just don't know now. Anyways thanks for being hear you are a great group.
