  • PM9 6 rd mag with Pearse Grip

New to KahrTalk so please be gentle. Love my new PM9 and have added the pearse grip to the bottom of my 6 rd clips for additional finger grip and love it too. Doesn't affect concealabilty. However the plastic mag base lock that comes with the grip is a bit thin and with the slightest pressure I can slide it off without pressing the recessed button. I noticed the mag base lock on the 7 round clip is a little thicker and I tried it on the 6 rounder and it makes a nice tight fit with no play. Ive ordered 2 more 7 rd mag base locks for my other 6 rd mags. Will I have any feed issues with the 7 round mag base lock being slightly thicker in the 6 rd clip? I can still load the six rounder just wasn't sure if the additional thickness may affect feeding. Or am I making more out of it than I should?
    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forum.

It will probably be OK. I added the Pierce back to mine last week. I go back and forth but I recently started using a new holster and went back to the Extension. I shoot it much more accurate that way too.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Thanks for the response. So you don't think the slightly added thickness will pose a feed issue?

Mine has no issue with the extension and lots of folks use it.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the PM9. While I personally don't use any extensions on my magazines because I prefer a flush mag, I doubt you will have any issues by using the plate from the 7 rounder. There is a ton of great info here on this site as well as a wealth of knowledge from our members.

And because I couldn't help myself... its a magazine, not a clip Sorry, just sayin.

Thanks for the replies and for pointing out mag vs. clip. Not sure how/why I mixed that up as I do know the difference. Thanks for the initiation.
I have found a ton great info on the forum and was just curious if the slight thickness of the 7 round mag base lock would affect feeding.
Hope to throw some rounds down range in the next week or so. I'll post any issues.

Finally got around to shooting my PM9 with the extension and using the 7 round mag base lock in lieu of the base lock that came with the extension. No issues. Actually keeps the extension tighter against the bottom of the mag. No feed issues.
