  • New CM9 Goes to the Range

Took my new CM9 up to the range in the Hills today. I think I'm in love. The day started off with a couple hundred slide racks, then a break down and cleaning. As another poster found, there was a fair amount of poly shavings in the rails. Got rid of it all and followed the lube chart. Off I went to test her out.
I shot a box of PMC, and some Winchester White Box, as well as a 6 MagTech First Defense Justice +P rounds. I am now thoroughly convinced that anyone having a problem with a CM9 is committing operator error. Either that or they didn't follow the prep advice in the stickies (which I am convinced kept me from having start-up trouble with any of my Kahrs).
Every round fed flawlessly and fired without incident. I slingshot loaded half the magazines without a single failure to return to battery. Once I got the trigger pull down, it stopped shooting low and to the left and all but 2 rounds went into the middle circle (okay, it was a big middle circle, but it was still in there).
Recoil was mild, including the +P rounds. Compared to my old CM40, this thing was a pussycat. A deadly pussycat, like a tiger or my housecat when she hasn't been fed, but a pussycat none-the-less.
If I had anything to complain about, it would be my own stupidity for not putting something on the grip to tame the waffle iron. My CW45 and my former CM40 both have a small strip of bicycle tire (I think I learned that trick here), but I neglected to put it on the 9. That problem will be corrected tonight.
This pistol will replace my .357 snubbie as my EDC. The fact that it weighs 10 ounces less is just sauce for the goose.
If you are undecided about buying one of these, put on your Nikes and just do it. You won't be sorry.

ILMBABA; nice report. I do agree the helpful stickys are there to make that first shoot a good one. those tips are uslaly form members who have been there done that sh!t. Some knock the prepping stuff, and thats OK, We can't and don't intend top please all,

Nice report. The cm9 IMO is such a nice gun all the way around..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Glad to read your excellent range report. Looks like my cm9 will arrive Monday and I cant wait to clean, lube properly, and run some rounds thru it. Also ordered a StaysPut holster for it because of the positive comments posted here.
