First range trip with Pm9 after prep work

On my first range trip with my new Pm9, I had slide fail to lock open twice on an empty mag. This was my fault as I was trying different hand positions to obtain the best shooting grip for me. I shot 200 rounds and the little gun was flawless! Not one single problem of any kind. I assume this was because of the the prep, lube, and mag repair information found on this site. Before the prep, the slide felt gritty and was not smooth to rack. The trigger was long but very smooth. I was totally amazed by the lack of felt recoil! All 200 rounds were shot from about 7 yards as I was just trying to break in the gun and not shoot for accuracy.Slow fire and rapid fire, this great little gun was very impressive. In my opinion, this will be quite an accurate little gun. It was a joy to shoot all 200 rounds.

I love my pm9 more and more. I've had no problems from the beginning, other than the slide being very hard to rack the first 400 rounds.
After 1100 rounds I put a new recoil spring in and put another 600 rounds through the gun.
Now I carry the pm9 with the new spring and put the old spring back in for range trips.

report. alot of times this failure of the slide to lock back on the last round is due to the gun jut being totally new. The recoil springs are stocut when new and it takes a few hundred rounds for those springs to take their designed set, and many times on the poly framed guns there are still some high spots on the olymer rails that the slide should not make contact with but evidently does and until these high spots are smoothed down by slide action, it can cause failure to lock back. course shooter error can also be a factor. My et is after 200 rounds you will think you have a totally different PM9 to, it willbe uch easier tohand rack, the sldie will indeed feel smooth as butter. Everything now has taken its designed set. I alwyas was a believer thatkahrs jst ghet smoother with rounds down range, change recoil springs as needed and leave the rest alone. The gun will talk toyou when things eed to be done.
