Is there a flush fit for the PM45?

I found a flush fit mag for the PM40 and like it better for carry purposes. However try as I might I cannot find a flush fit for the PM45.

Does one exist or is there a gunsmith who is converting 6 rounders?

I finally got around to making flush fit mags for my PM45. I bought the mags (1 mec-gar and 2 generics). I first lowered the front of the magazines so that they would clear the slide and extractor. After testing them with 100 rounds and confirming no failures I cut the bottoms off flush with the grip and took them to a welder. The results are excellent. The mec-gar (the one in the left), being a better mag, looks better (shinier) and the slide stays open on the last round. The others (one is on the right) don't leave the slide open but they hold 6 rounds. Yep, my PM-45 is a 6+1 (the picture shows the weapon loaded with 7 rounds)! I shot 200 rounds of WWB and 50 of Hornady +p yesterday with no problems of any kind.

The weapon carries easier, functions flawlessly, and now gives me an extra round.

Hey good work Jim.
So your saying all 3 are able to hold 6rds? How much spring did you have to remove?
I clipped two coils on my flush mag and still only have room for 5.
Did you have to do any work to the follower on the mec-gar?

No, only the two no-name mags hold 6. I had to remove two links from the springs. I did modify the mec-gar follower by filing down the front and back. I was attempting to get 6 rounds in it as well, but so far it doesn't have the room. It work perfectly for 5 rounds without any spring or follower mods. I think the problem is in the notch for the mag catch. With six rounds (which I can load in it) the Kahr mag catch seems to be coming into contact with the fourth loaded round and that is preventing it from seating properly. I started trying to open the notch up a bit but I was afraid that it would screw up a perfectly good 5 round flush mag, so I gave up on it. BTW, it's a 1911 6 round officer mag (model MGCO4506N).

I cut and welded up one a couple of weeks ago and was able to test it yesterday. It ran flawless, holds 5 rounds, and locks the slide open. I will say yours are a lot prettier than mine. All i had was a wire feed welder and even with it on the lowest current and slowest wire feed it left some ugly beads on the bottom. I think if i could find a spot welder that would do the trick and it would look better too. I'll try and post some pics of an ugly one later that will make yours look dven better.

What did you do your spot welds with?

What did you do your spot welds with?

I don't have the talent for welding. A high school kid in shop class did the spot welding for $10/each. A bargain for me.
