    Here's my real list of differences between the two, it's not just looks. Both serve well though...

    PM9 = Polygonal rifling
    CM9 = Conventional rifling

    PM9 = Machined slide release
    CM9 = Injection molded slide release

    PM9 = Dovetail front sight
    CM9 = Pinned front sight

    PM9 = Refined slide exterior
    CM9 = Regular slide exterior

    PM9 = All black option
    CM9 = No all black option (factory)

    PM9 = Night sights option
    CM9 = No night sights option (factory)

    PM9 = 2 magazines
    CM9 = 1 magazine

    PM9 = Laser Engraving
    CM9 = Stamped Engraving
    PM40... My EDC. Just Sayin'

      Also, the second mag that comes with the PM is that absurd thing with the plastic on the end. I never wanted that mag, this is a pocket gun. So the money you save on the CM allows you to buy an extra mag, add night sights, and still go to Mickey D's with the change.

      Truth be told, I don't buy a Glock or a Kahr for the looks. Engraved Browning Hi Power, yes. CM40 is a pocket gun, no one will ever see it unless they are looking at the wrong end.

        If you consider the reason for this weapon, protection at close quarters, is it worth the extra $'s. Not good at target practicing, not good for showing off since it's CC. I would prefer the PM but do I need it?......welllllllll. CM9 and lovin it.

        As the man says........."Just sayin".

        PM9 = Polygonal rifling
        CM9 = Conventional rifling
        (if firing close range, as in most cases, does it make a difference.)

        PM9 = Machined slide release
        CM9 = Injection molded slide release
        (pretty but not necessary)

        PM9 = Dovetail front sight
        CM9 = Pinned front sight
        (close quarters not needed)

        PM9 = Refined slide exterior
        CM9 = Regular slide exterior
        (Pretty but not needed)

        PM9 = All black option
        CM9 = No all black option (factory)
        (Not needed)

        PM9 = Night sights option
        CM9 = No night sights option (factory)
        (Not needed)

        PM9 = 2 magazines
        CM9 = 1 magazine
        (?? ok)

        PM9 = Laser Engraving
        CM9 = Stamped Engraving
        (pretty but not needed)
        cm9 and lovin it.

          I sold my PM9 and bought a CM9. Been very happy with the results. Of course my PM9 was the older version that was a little shorter. I couldn't get it to shoot consistently.

            Thanks for all the help guys!!

            I will be heading to the gun show in about an hour. I will report back with what I end up with.

            There will hopefully be some deals. It seems guns have come back down but ammo at the shows is still up there.

            If there aren't any good deals I will be getting one off of gunbroker.

              Good luck Dirty Harry. I think you'll be pleased either way. Seems like folks with PM love em and folks with CM love em and folks with CW love em......

                These are good points to consider (especially Mickey D's :-). I know with my PM I am pretty particular when it comes to cleaning, oiling, preventative stuff, etc... but it IS a defensive, concealable weapon that remains hidden. I know the exterior slide being smoother is a plus for me personally and I would prefer two flush magazines. Kahrs in general are great for their designed purpose namely a defensive carry weapon and while I have a Glock 30S for a home nightstand and periodic carry weapon, my Kahr is with me most of the time.

                    DH,
                    You won't be sorry I'm sure. I intend to keep mine A LONG TIME and not because I have to but rather because it fills my needs for CC. Incidentally I paid $499 for mine. You got a good fair deal.

                      I think I will like it. I'm carrying it in my pocket now while I'm at home to break in the pocket holster. I will be ordering sights for it and taking it to the range next week to put a few hundred rounds through it to make sure it's worthy of being carried. Until then the LCP will be in my pocket.

                      The prices were all over the place. The highest I was quoted was $465 out the door. I told that guy I can get it a few tables over for $399 out the door. He said I can't touch that. That's a great deal. You should go buy that one.

                      The gun show at the Palm Beach County fair grounds is the biggest gun show in the state. There is one every month. There is always a lot of vendors so that helps drive down the prices.

                      The ammo was still too high for me. Luckily I work about 1 mile from Walmart. I go there every day on my lunch break. Some times I get lucky and score some ammo.

                        Congrats - seems you did good on the price. When you get a chance, go through the proper prep and lube stickies in the kahr-tech sub forum. Lots of good related reading in there.

                          DH,
                          As I've said before I've got several holsters and lately I've been carrying in a Remora pocket holster in the rear pocket. Honestly I forget it there. It's not a quick draw like a OWB or IWB but not that bad either and it's a hell of lot more comfortable. Congrats and welcome to the forum.

                            What holster did you get? I am reading about the Desantis Nemesis but honestly never pocket carried. Thoughts?

                              I second the Remora for IWB carry, works great. It's all I carry in these days, even my heavier CZ. I had a desantis nemesis for my PM9, always felt that gun was just a tad on the heavy side for pocket carry. Really need to be in the category of a pocket 380 or a super light revolver to pocket carry IMO. But PLENTY of people do carry their PM series (9 or 40) as a pocket gun.

                                Desantis Nemesis is the one I use and I very surprised I like it especially in my back pocket but like a wallet (which I don't carry) I don't notice it all. The way I feel now is this may very well be my main way to carry. That little holster WILL not pull out of my back pocket and although the cm9 is just below the edge of my jean pocket I have no problem pulling the gun out. Takes longer than a fast draw but comfort is worth something. They are selling a "Super" sticky holster and it's around $33. The Nemesis is less than that and I see no reason to update as I'm happy with it.
