Well, I found out that if the open end is definitely at 12:00 then it works fine. I think I wasn't really pointing it toward the slide but just shoving it in there which is probably why sometimes the spring would extend out of the front. I am much happier now that I can put it back together without any cliches.

I picked up my new CM9 today and have spent the last hour trying to get the slide stop pin out.I line up the witness marks and the pin won't budge. It's like it is welded in.I tried prying it out with a screwdriver.I watched a youtube and the guy on there just pulls it out with his fingers.Any suggestions? Thanks!

Finally got it by tapping the pin from the other side.

Don't worry, after a range trip or 2 you'll be able to pop it out with your finger. They're all tight in thd beginning.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Line the marks up, and tap out with the cushioned base of a magazine. Works every time. Always on hand, and will not mare the finish.

thats anutter reason why the pin sticks out on the right side to. U can tap it with a brass hammer and it will pop right ouot. Its not supposed to fall out. I always put a dab of grease on that little springhy to before reinstalling the jpin, and also on the pin itself..

I was so intent on getting the marks to match up that I never looked at the other side. This is the tightest pistol I have ever seen.Getting the spring and rod back in was also a chore.I went to the range today but there was a 2 hour wait.I plan on putting 200 rounds through it tomorrow. Many thanks for all the responses.

200 IN ONE SETTING is a bunch, so be aware of grip changes etc that can cause malfunctions. What happens a sooter with his new peace is so escited about shooting it that after X number of rounds the shooter gets tired and doesn't realize it and ten things happen and the gun gets blamed. If I could give a recommendation. limit ur first shoot to a 100 rounds with sme breaks in between. If u get a 100 flawless rounds thruh the gun, then IMO it is good to go. that 200 round recomme3ndation is what kahr would like to see done but it doesn't have to be done in one setting. Shoot good ammo, not junk stuff, Ur gun is new the recoils springs have not taken their designed set either, so sometimes with fmj what I call range fodder ammo, can produce failure to lock open sometimes. Once the springs take their set ur good to go. If u do encountert some failure to lock open, then try a box of defense ammo that is usually hotter and normally + rated. My bet is that it wil lock open perfectly. Shoot close to, keep ur range at 7 yards, This ain't a target gun ad the looooong but smooth trigger takes some time to get the ang of....Hopefully u did the propper prepping of ur kahr and read that thread to c heck out things that should be pre-checked..

I put over 100 rounds of 3 different ammo types through it today and it was flawless. The trigger pull will take some getting used to.Thanks for all the insight!
