  • 7 rnd mag problem

ok, not to beat a dead horse..but my 7 rnd pm9 mags started to f@#% up...never did before...if i load gun with 8 rnds (1 in chamber and 7 rnd mag) on the 2 or 3 rnd shot the cartridge nose dives and FTF...but if i load gun with 7 rnds (1 in chamber and 6 rnds in 7 rnd mag) it doesnt happen at all....go figure...i did follower fix, changing angle...well see next trip to range....i only use 6 rnd mags when i carry....never had issues with 6 rnd mags....
    Why i carry?..."CAUSE I CAN"... :0)

Check out HarryLee's post below. Smoothing the inside of the follower where the spring goes along with trimming the mag spring fixed my 8 round mag. You might try this on your 7 rounder:

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

kiki, try putting the 6 round mag spring in the 7 round mag tube ans see what happens. Ur not cuttinganything but just testng things out.

Make sure that mag follower is also not grabb8ing on that mag releasebutton, for it will happen at the round count thatyour saying to. the propper prep thread tells you how to check that and the fix is maybe 5 minutes.. all ur doing here is elim9nating the possabilities.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I have always thought that the mag spring was too strong. You will see in my post that I have found good success with a lesser spring, I have in all my 8 round mags a 6 round spring and that doesn’t force the top round as much to do a dive have not tried 7 round mags but the less mag spring will help. I do the follower mod on everything just makes things work better, give a try and find out for yourself. What works is the important thing, you have to keep on trying till you find the right balance. Good luck

That's the problem I had with mine. I sanded some material off the follower where it meets the mag catch and it fixed it.

My P9 Covert will not lock the slide back when using the 7 round mag with the bigger base plate on it. Haven't tried a regular 7 rounder since all my Kahrs took the short mags but I recently got a K9 and will give them a try next time I get a chance.
