CM9 Trigger Noise-Creaks-Sounds bad :(

I just picked my CM9 this evening and upon inspection there is a very noticeable creaking sound when pulling the trigger. The sound starts as soon as I pull the trigger and carries on creaking all the way through the trigger pull.
I'm hoping it's a pre break-in symptom - I'm just surprised how much it creaks.


Any suggestions?

If you haven't already done the prepping as outlined in the sticky thread about that, I'd suggest you do it before shooting the gun.

The creaky sound in the trigger you noticed happened with mine too. What I did was put a few drops of oil on the spring above the trigger. The squeaking stopped and hasn't returned. Good luck with yours.

I didn't see the sticky you referred to. Is it in this sub-forum? I did some investigating and found out where the creaking was coming from. The trigger bar rubbing against the trigger bar spring. I've attached a pic. As the bar runs across the spring, it stutters and makes the creaking noise. As a test, I pulled the spring ever so gently away from the bar and pulled the trigger - creaking/sound disappears completely. I've dabbed some ballistol on it, but no improvement. I think I'll try grease next? Any other suggestions?

The friction noise is highlighted in red.

I'd go with the grease. Or perhaps Frog Lube. It's what I really like now, better than the other stuff I was using.

Thanks for the link. I've been using Ballistol as my all-in-one but was looking for lube/grease only option, to follow the Ballistol cleaning.

I tried lube only -no dice. Next step, polish like you and some others have suggested.

I didn't want to take apart the frame, so I was able to get by, by just removing the trigger bar spring. I hit the part of the spring that holds up the trigger bar with 2000 grit sp, cleaned and lubed it. I hit some of the trigger bar via the opening with the same. I was able to eliminate 95% of the friction noise. If the remaining 5% doesn't wear off on it's own after a few hundred rounds, (and if I still care ) I might break the frame down more and do a more thorough polishing job.

nice photo chilltown. very explanative. pictures do great. It is so wasy to polish that area o the tgrigger b ar where that little spring kmakes contact and must clide on that bar. Grease is good i that area but the less u hav eto pull that side cover off the better u are, IMO. Just sayin

Thanks jocko. I went ahead and got some TW25 and put a tiny bit where the trigger bar meets the trigger bar spring. It has eliminated the tiny bit of creaking that I missed with the polish job. I'm now 100% creak free lol.

This grease is amazing! I went ahead and hit the other lube points on my CM9 and then onto my other firearms.. this little tube will last a long time!
