I carry my CM9 much more than my PM45. The CM/PM9 is the lightest in 9mm and the PM45 is the lightest in 45. For me, I like slightly less weight, another round, and 9mm is cheaper to practice. FWIW, I don't pocket carry...ever. Kydex AIWB is for me.

I have both as well and for some reason I am always drawn back to the PM45 when clothing permits. The PM9 is a bit smaller and lighter , but the feel of the PM45 wins out for me. I should say with my PM9 if I load a full clip of hallow points or other self defense ammo without the slide being back it will jam against the feed ramp from time to time. Having said that I am still under the suggested break in period, and even more importantly the instruction manual says to load the clip with the slide open anyways. I have never had a problem with the PM45 at all.

Go with the PM40. LOL. Just happens to be my personal preference and cal of choice.
Actually I'd go with the 9 vs the 45, just because it will carry smaller, lighter and probably feel more comfortable to shoot. However, Bawana is right....marbles vs bricks. The ballistics are there to compare.
Surprised you would even ask. You know you are going to get both answers. You need to chose what works for you. Decide how you will carry and if it will really make a difference for that carry....Then decide what cal will do a better job for you, why you want it, how you will use it, how much you will shoot it, cost of ammo, availability of ammo, do you reload that cal, price of one vs the other cal, etc, etc, etc....My Sword - PM4044N/CTL/Talons

I actually prefer either 9mm or 40cal in small carry guns and Kahrs are small carry guns (CM/PM/MK). I think those calibers typically carry better and run better in small platforms. And there are plenty of good SD ammo choices in both 9mm and 40cal. JMHO.
I really do like the feel of 45cal but I stick to the range and in full sized guns. And carry them rarely.
If I feel the need to carry a more powerful caliber than 40cal, I typically carry a 357magnum snubbie.
There you go. All my carry advice in one post...even though you didn't ask for it.I guess I am feeling chatty this morning.

had they made the cm9 first I would have bought it ober the PMJ9. I lovemy PMJ9 but I could do without that butt ugley 7 rund mag, nite sights was not a deal breaker wit me either and now the c series offers them up. If theyt made a cm9 blunt nose kahr today I would buy it anyhow... My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
