Another new CM45

I reported in a previous thread that I had bought a new CM45 and had a lot of issues with FTE's. Even after sending back to Kahr I still was having issues at 400 rounds so I used my Davidson's warranty. Well got my new replacement finally and was able to go to the range yesterday after cleaning and lubing my new pistol. I had a much better experience with this one. Out of 125 rounds, I had 2 FTF's. Not bad as I realize I am in the break in period and this should clear up as I put more rounds thru it. The one thing that puzzled me is when I decided to try a few rounds of my self defense ammo which is the Federal HTS 230 grain +P, 2 out of three rounds jammed (FTF). I am not sure what to make of this? Is the HTS going to be a problem for this pistol or maybe and hopefully the gun just needs to break in first. Any thoughts?

You might find some particular ammo type that your pistol doesn't like. My PM45's both prefer long rounds, my 1911's prefer shorter rounds... thats the way they work.

Could be a case of limp wristing too..I just shot some of those HST's yesterday from the heavier xds and they're stout.
I would definitely try again after break in though.

My cm45 had some ftf issues in the beginning. It has mostly cleared up after about 350 rounds. I have found 1. It likes to be well lubed, and 2. It is sensitive to limp wristing at this time. It also doesnt like fiochi ball ammo. Blazer brass and pmc works fine.

I dunno, I'd think a stout round would make up for some limp wrist. My own thinking is that shoot the pistol with the hottest stuff you can get for break in. It'll go quicker, and that recoil spring (assembly) will get all nice and limbered up more quickly.

Neither my KahrCW45 or Colt Officers .45 like Federal HST or Gold Dot. They both do 100% with CorBon PoweRBall which is what I use for Defensive Carry.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I sure hope the HST works out as I love the round and bought two 50 round boxes. I can always use them in my Glock 30SF. I also learned that the Kahrs do really need to be lubed well so I am using grease now which is working better.

Its bigger. It feels great in my hand, balances nicely, and just long enough to get a full 3 finger grip.

50 more rounds through my cm45 today and its dmoothed out nicely. I wish I knew how many that makes. Probably about 400.

I got my CM45 last week and have around 350-400 rounds through it. I've tried a lot of different ammo and the best performers are: [COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961)]Doubletap, Federal 165 gr Hydra-Shok, and Hornady Critical Defense. Pretty much everything else except ball gave me too many FTF's. That said, I love my CM45.[/COLOR]
