Hi everyone, I just purchased and shot my new PM9 today, 50 rounds right out of the box, just wiped excess oil off and fired all 50 with no problems. I traded a Ruger LCR with C/T Laser for it, the Ruger was a good gun, but to big for pocket carry, so if I am going to wear it on my belt I wanted more fire power and more rounds.

Question: #1 I wonder if many of you pocket carry and if so what holster, and I like to carry appendix style so if you have any suggestions please share them.

I also, have a Glock 23 and some rifles as well as I do reload.

Question #2: can you shoot Lead bullets in a PM9????? That was always a problem for a Glock.

    Question #3: What defense ammo????

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your new PM9. I also have a PM9 and I have a CT LG-437 laser installed and I just love this combination as I believe it is the perfect carry weapon, reliable, easy to conceal and accurate.

    Question #1
I do pocket carry on occasion and when I do I use a DESANTIS SUPERFLY POCKET HOLSTER. My normal carry method 98% of the time though is with a Crossbreed mini-tuck IWB.

    Question #2
Although some do shoot lead bullets I personally do not unless they are plated because the polygonal rifling leads up much faster than convention rifling .

    Question #3
My preference for defense ammo is Cor-bon DPX 115gr +P my second choice is Speer Gold Dot 124gra +P short Barrel HP. I feel very comfortable carrying either.

#1. I carry 24/7 in front pocket in a desantis holster that is marked MK which is the same size ad the PM series is. rides in my jeans 24/7 , has been for over 3+ years. not bother to me.

#2 no you should not shoot lead in your pM9. It has a polygonal rifled barrel and kahr reecommends not to do so. Many though however who reload etc and they juyst advise cleaning the barrel more often, which probably is right. #3 defense ammo is your choice Kahrs arenot ammo sensitive, so what ever you can find locally in decent supply, test it out it it is 1005 reliab le, consider it. Ammo is a very debateable thing to many. Mya dvice is just to shoot what ever you can afford and you have gun knowledge so you know what is acceptable also. theya re all good, some maybe alittle better. IT MUST GO BANG EVERY TIME.

You have a super carry peace, u won't even know your carrying it IMO. I just always felt the PM 9 kahrs was made to be pocket carried and not as much for waist band carry. That being so, If I was gonna waste band carry, I problaby would have bought the P9, a tad heavier (one more round) a tad bigger, but not for waist band carry.

Iyhave a G19 that I love to shoot. The most accurate semi I own, but it is basically my home and range gun, as I NEVER LEAVE MY HOME WITHOUT MY PM9. to me it is just thateasy to carry.

      also welcome to the forum.

You might want to go to the kahr tech section and hit on the PROPPER PREPPING OF YOUR NEW KAHR. there are some tips that might keep that gun runnig forever to.

Great gun u have there, IMO it is the best of the best, course I am prejudice as my PM9 has 29.300 rounds through it and is like the duracell battery... again welcome.

Beware we have a poster by the name of BAWANNA, he tends to "SCENT" ALOT!!!!!!!

ioops , SORRY about almost double posting what Old Coot just stated. I think he and I must have been posting this at the same time, but as u can see his thoughts and mine run pretty close to..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

All scenting aside we're here to help if you need or want it. Somebody here has been there before no matter what happens.
There's some real helpful folks here and then there's me just scenting the place up. It's just a curse, can't help myself. Being a relative rookie myself I'm still kind of feeling my way around.
Glad you found us, think you'll like it here.

That should do. Welcome to the place, we like it ok here, we have fun and you get the idea. Follow these threads and do a little pre-flight and all should be right in the world. As for the defense ammo, a well known brand of hollow points that is available, and reliable will serve you well. Break should be done with ball, for economies sake, then when the gun runs 100%, run some good stuff through. Again welcome and enjoy.

ps. if you have a question or a comment, jump right in

I also pocket carry most of the time either on a Galco pocket protector or a Desantis Nemesis depending on wardrobe.
Why is it that every time there is a shooting spree they want to take the guns away from the people that didn't do it? :59:

There is another thread over in the Carry topic area about belly bands. You might want to check out that topic area for more ideas.

Welcome, you'll like it here. The PM9 is a great gun, I carry mine in an Active Pro Gear belly band, appendix carry.

I didn't find out about this forum until after I purchased and shot my PM9 sooooooooooo I didn't do any prep on it before shooting it for the first time. Luckily I had no problems and shot 200 rounds through it. I carry mine in an Uncle Mikes #3 and use Hornady Critical Defense Ammo. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.
