  • Bought a replacement for my carry CW45

Almost four years ago my PM45 was stolen along with fourteen other pistols including a brand new SA Loaded Ultra Compact 1911. In May of this year the Springfield was recovered. I already had three compact 1911's with alloy frames that were lighter than the all steel Springfield so I cleaned it up and put it in the safe and left it.

Today I took the Springfield to my LGS and traded it for a CM45. This served two purposes - I got rid of a pistol that I didn't need and would probably never use and I got a replacement for the PM45 of which I was quite fond and carried a great deal. Plus I got a couple of hundred dollars in pocket money on the trade.

BTW, the trigger on the CM is a bit more gritty than my other Kahrs, but if the inside is as dry as the outside, I can understand why. I think a good cleaning and lube plus working the gun a bit will solve the issue. What happened to Kahr's practice of marinating their pistols in gun oil?

That Springfield was a nice pistol but I understand completely the trade. I've done the same thing with 2 pistols in the last 6 months and dont regret it one bit. By the way, I like my CM45 lot too. Mine was a new purchase. My trades were something else.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Good deal O'Dell. I have the same thing going on in my safe: too many 1911s and one too few CM45s. Congrats.

        Congrats O'Dell!

I just seen your post in my flush mag thread about getting a CM45. I knew you've been waiting for the CM to be released for about as long as I had been.

I really like mine and it has run 100% so far(~300-400 rds) It has smoothed out nicely as I've shot it. I think the trigger on my CM45 feels better then the triggers on my Kahr 9mm's... I am sure yours will smooth out after you clean, lube and break it in some.

I know what you mean about having sorta redundant guns, but I hate to sell anything LOL...I have become really fond of my CM45 and it has been my go to carry gun lately . It's a great size and weight and of coarse nothing is quite as comforting as a 45

How many 1911's is too many? Do I need to start worrying?

Probably, but no one stole your PM45, so you don't need a replacement.

BTW, I got an E-Mail from Kahr stating that they had shipped my free mag. Pretty good CS, since I only sent the request at midnight yesterday.
