  • CM at the range

I got my free mag last weekend so I took the CM45 to the range today. I shot 140 rounds of that low powered and dirty USAAmmo I'm trying to get rid of and 30 rounds of Federal HP. The pistol performed 100% even with the crappy ammo. I, however, wasn't at my best since I haven't shot a gun in almost a year. I will say though that the flyers in the seven ring were when I was shooting one handed and limp wristing to try and get the pistol to fail. It did not! all shots were at ten yards.

I did notice before I went shooting that the pistol will not eject a live round. It catches on the barrel hood, and I don't know how to fix it since I have no cutting or grinding tools.

Dang O'Dell, if that's how you shoot after not shooting for a year and it's a new gun too, I sure wouldn't want to get on your bad side my friend! Good shooting!

Doesn't really surprise me that the CM45 ran 100% for you. Mine has been running 100% since new too. I am around 300-400rds and it is broken in nicely, with the only issue being an occasional brass to the head. I think that is working its way out though as I shoot it, and adjust my reloads.

Mine also would not eject live rounds. If you don't have a small file or a stone, you could use a piece of emery cloth on a popsicle stick to just break and smooth the barrel hood edge. That is all that was needed to fix mine.

It's funny I shot better after some very long dry spells too. Don't make sense.

That is fine shooting. All you need is a small file. A finger nail file or a bit of like 400 sandpaper on a popsicle stick will do the shop. Just knocking off that tiny little tip. Usually don't take much.

That's good shooting. You're making it real tough to resist getting a CM45. I'm hanging on a thread here I'll admit.

Go buy a small file and take just a smidgen off the length of the ejector. I did that to mine and it fixed it right up on the live round issue.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Mine sure didn't like limp wristing. I'm sure glad that the recoil spring is a little easier to compress now. Did you know they take a 500 round break in? That's what the Glock pusher range master told me. Along with a bunch of other crap he made up. I told him this was my 4th Kahr, and he suddenly found something else that needed his attention. He came over to see why I was having a bit of trouble locking the slide back, so I let him try, "Damn, that is a stiff spring" I said yep, that's why I was having to use a bit of muscle to lock the slide open.

You can tell the glock pusher that my G19 gen 4 took a 300+ round break in before the fail to feed issues cleared up. Thats more than ANY of my Kahrs did. I think its funny to go over to glock talk and see how many of them are having issues with their piece of "perfection". I will say their SF and Gen 4 frames have a nicer grip which is along with the greater magazine capacity is the only reason i bought a glock.

Oh you can tell him too that my 30S was flawless and my g19 had issues which makes glocks have a 50% failure rate from the factory.

Thanks for the tip. I was perplexed as to why that was happening to my newly purchased CM45 as I also have a CM40 and never experienced that. I did the fix and it works fine.

A Gun is a lot like a parachute. If you need one and don't have one, you probably won't need one again.
