  • CM9 Mag Follower Question (Problem?)

I bought a new mag for my CM9 and just noticed the follower on the new mag (one on the right) is different than the older one (the one on the left).
I also noticed that the new mag, when in the gun, makes the slide very hard to put into battery. I also notice the one on the right (the new one) has more material on the bottom of the follower (see where circled).

Can anyone explain if this is a problem or not? Should I be concerned? Thanks all!

if either works OK just shoot it like u stole it. I can't see much from the photo...
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

Very hard to see that little pic... but I think the old one looks broken??? If it is, that could indicate a problem and the feed ramp may need modified.

It should be difficult to release the slide on an empty mag. That is normal if that's what your second question is.

Does your old one look like the one shown in this thread?

Yes BearDog, it sure does. But what's funny is that it works with no problems at all. Where can I buy a new follower?
Thanks Jocko, will be shooting the fool outta it this week!

Contact Kahr tell them your follower broke and ask what you should do.
They should at least send you another one to try.
If it breaks again your gun will need to be fixed.
They are well aware of this issue, so they should offer to take care of it for you.

I just went through the broken follower issue. Sent cm9 back to kahr on their dime with 1 week turnaround. Can't complain Service was A1. Mine broke two followers on last round fired.

last round is where the follower is in the position of being slamed by the feed ramp. It won't break at any utter position.

That's cool. I shouldn't be so sensitive I like the above notice.

                          No worries.

Rather than actually fix the problem, all Kahr has to do is attach that notice to every gun they ship.
It would save them a fortune on repairs and postage.

I wonder if the feed ramp slamming against the next round in the mag could cause damage to the projectile.

Just got off the phone with Kahr customer service. I could not believe how easy the process was. I was offered two options, either they send me new followers or I send the gun in for repair at their expense. I love the gun and hate to be without it, but if all I did was constantly change out followers, then I would not be eliminating the true problem. So I opted to send it back to them for repair. Excellent customer service so far.

Thank you all for your help. I will let you know how it does once I get it back and test it.
